Red face 2012 Versa Sedan SV / CVT Transmission Slipping

My wife and I just purchased a 2012 Nissan Versa 1.6 SV CVT Sedan on 7-24-12. When we slow down without using the breaks and almost make a complete stop and press the accelerator, often times there is a huge vibration noise in the front end. It almost seems like the transmission is slipping. Luckily I am a Nissan Internet Manager and I got it looked at. They're still trying to figure out what is the matter. They were even able to replicate the same issue on another 2012 Nissan Versa 1.6L SV Sedan CVT.

Does anyone else out there have the same issue?

Thanks.

My wife and I bought a 2012 Nissan Versa in Sep 2011. We have really enjoyed this car and haven't had any issues with it up until this morning. After she filled up on gas the car would not move, it turned over, she could rev the engine, but nothing. After I got off work I went to the gas station where it was located to see this problem for myself. Sure enough, engine turned over like normal, put the car into reverse and it immediately started making odd noises. When she was explaining these noises to me on the phone she said that she thought there was a parking curb in front of her (which didn't make sense at the time), but honestly that's what it sounds like. When you pull into a parking space and your front bumper scrapes the cement, that's what the engine sounded like while it was just idling. Anyways, while in reverse I step on the gas... parking break is off it's fully in gear, this is the usual routine here... and nothing. The RPMs were increasing, I could here and see that but the car would not budge, it were as if the car was in neutral. So I put the car into drive, and same thing. Each time I put the car into a different gear it made a horrible grinding noise, especially when I put the car back into park after all of that. I have very little car knowledge which is why we bought an extended warranty and a brand new car. I am having it towed to the service dealership and really hope that they can fix it quickly and find out what went wrong.

@wizkid802 - You say you're a Nissan Internet Manager? I'm not sure what that entails but my wife is really worried that it was something that we could have done... keep in mind this car has barely 71,000 miles on it... haven't even had it for a full year. The farthest this car has gone is to Carmel, CA from Sacramento, CA and other than that she commutes 30 minutes per day. This car has been driven extremely lightly.

In your opinion, do you think that we will have any trouble from the dealership? We have a 75,000 mile warranty.

Thank you in advance.

EDIT: Barely 12,000 NOT 71,000. It's been a long day.

Do you have the CVT warranty?
My CVT has a warranty for ten years, or 200K. My coworkers 09 rogue just had the CVT go at 90,000 kms (not miles). Doesn't seem like the CVT are going to last long, probably why Nissan extended the warranty on all of them.

I bought a blue sedan SV in June. I did post on reddit about an issue I was having, similar to this one :Bought a 12 Versa. (well, last month that is) Possible problem with CVT. : Nissan

I did take it to the dealer, and they found nothing wrong with the car... Saying the vibration is normal for the CVT. Also, try to drive with the traction control button off. (bottom left of the steering wheel, under the vent) I've been driving with that off pretty often.

I also brought my Versa to a Nissan Certified Technician at our Nissan Service department and they weren't sure what was wrong other than they knew that the excessive vibration was abnormal. Today, the Nissan Service department is going to call the Service Hotline to see if this is a common issue. They also said they need to order a tool to fill the CVT fluid into the CVT.

I will have more answers by the end of today and I will keep everyone posted.

UPDATE:

My wife called and said that the transmission problem is getting much worse. The service department never called me back and they're closed after 5pm. I really hope this problem gets resolved.

nissan versa 2012 hatchback check engine light on crank shaft malfuntion error

i have a new versa hatchback special edition and at only 8,385 miles i have a service engine light and its the crankshaft malfunction error. and the light of the traction or anti slip control turned on at the same time as the check engine light. ( its a car with curvy tire marks on the back of it). im taking it to the dealer tomorrow to see if they can find out whats going on cause i have only had it for 8 months and so little miles and im worried this will be a lemon car. does any one have this problem as well? ill keep you posted on what happens.
