My bullets need new left control arm. I cant afford 700 dollar at dealership. I had go place to place lowest I find is 375 even with brother discount. My bestfriend is working there. I keep looking for another option. Best friend said he'll be glad to help out. I found one possible best way but I need to find a parts. A oem cost 250. I had see at rock auto for 40 to 60 each. The plan is rent the bay out of diy garage here in local for hour half and lift and replace the control arm. Do I'll need the parts which you would buy . Thanka

When I did my '09, I got the Napa Premium

NCP 2606108 Right
NCP 2606109 Left

The Nissan dealer I use put them on for me (yes, I have an AWESOME dealer by me).

All done it was about $450 with parts and labor(with dealer labor)

I believe it was around 2 hours for each side, and something had to be moved on one side, don't remember which, to get the arm out.

I've seen some crazy cheap LCA assemblies on eBay or the likes but figured they're used car lot quality. Like $40-50 shipped. My local Nissan dealer which is part of a mega chain will also use Napa, car quest, etc.. if you request it or if its the only quick source for parts. You never really know who's making the parts you get today anyway IMO.

The 'crazy cheap' LCAs typically are cheap Chinese parts that use crap quality non-heat treated balljoints to wear them out in a year or less. They may give you a lifetime warranty but you still got screwed with those parts, I used to warranty them out for some guys at 3 months dead over and over until they wised up to use the better part.

Most people think lifetime warranty automatically tells you the part is a good one, that is absolutely false in many cases. It actually means more like they will hand you new crap parts over and over until you give up fixing it to sell car thinking it has a factory defect there. Many of the parts are so cheap they can give you 3 or 4 of them before they begin to lose money, it is all built into the price. Why we have things like $250 alternators that are still not worth more than $50, you are prepaying for multiple fails there. And they WILL happen.

If the bad arm is on the driver side many cars can require a trans mount detach to jack trans up enough to get to critical fasteners on the arm. I remember Ford Contours that had to remove an entire perimeter frame to do that, one side timed at 8 hours more than the other to do that job.

I hear you AMC. Just throwing that option out there in the event someone wants to take the chance and roll the quality dice.

Like said, I'm not sure the Napa LCAs aren't these $40 beauties repackaged.

I replaced my in Moog. I have not had a problem with them. (1 year).

Two quick questions for you Tgable24,
Is it a manual/auto/cvt.
what part of the country do you live?
