It's possible that the 6 speed makes better use of the power band with each gear and that the 5 & 6 speed both have the same final gear ratio

Having the rpm at 32-3500 is not doing that, the more gears you have the more mechanical advantage you have, you then gear the final longer so you get BOTH advantages. Gearing shorter like said there on a 6 speed is whacky, MTX always gets geared a little longer than ATX, and because they commonly have at least one extra gear. At least until CVT showed up, and if they gear CVT that long some engines will be wearing out faster, you don't drop them out of the torque band, that leads to lugging damage. ALL engines like to spin at least some and Japanese ones more than some. 2200 at top rpm for a long time? Not on mine if I have a choice, needs to be 2500 or better.

Yeah that post is odd that like what iam at when iam doing 80mph (maby least have been on the highway in a while) but i agree with you on the need for a bit of rpm as to not lug the engine. Iam genna try a few thing and ask around and see what the verdict is for the other transmssions and put a post hopefully in the next week with my finding

Finally Found some ratio here are some pics with a link to the site (note i used the factory size tire 185/65 R15 for the size and that about 24 inches also the 5 speed is from a 2016 versa and the 6 speed is from a 2019 sentra)
