2008 Versa has timing chain. My understanding is that there is no need to replace the timing chain. But the timing chain tensioner may give out noise with excess wear.
I've driven cars well past the 200K mile mark and saw numerous others go past 200K without having to do anything to the timing chain. Even my Ford Escorts with timing belts and non interference engines usually don't get the timing belt changed bet about ever 100K. If they were interference engines I'd change it more frequently.
There's a taxi outfit by me that uses Nissan Versas with the 4spd auto for taxi service. They get over 200K miles out of them between engine/trans swaps.
That being said, as much as a timing chain sounds nice from a marketing standpoint, these massively long bicycle chains our modern multi-overhead cam engines use are scarier to me than a T-belt. Lots of potential for oil leaks around the housings for these chains as well.
