Hi,

I need help in replacing the tension pulley and belt on my Nissan Versa 2007.
I'm a newbie mechanic and searched youtube videos but it is not detailed for me.
From what I have seen, the tension pulley can be either removed from:
a: passenger side by removing wheel and fender lining
b: engine top side by removing strut and engine mounts

Removing the wheel and fender lining seems a lot of work specially all those fender push pins so I'm favoring removing the engine mounts since I have done this before already. My concern is removing the T50 bolt that holds the tension pulley which seems a long bolt.
Is there enough space for the ratchet (1/2 socket or 3/8 socket or 1/4 hex T50) and the bolt to go in and out after removing the motor mounts?
Can I easily install the belt after removing the motor mounts?
Thank you.

Doug

yes this one is real tough, but look at min 1:45 on that video. The hole in the chassis where he threads the bolt through, that's where you need to work through. I've done this a couple times and it gets a little easier after you teach yourself how to do it, but its always a pain in the ass.

before removing the motor mount, you gotta prop the motor up with a jack (use a piece of wood). just give it a small push upward, remove the mount and then lower the engine into place where you can line up the hole in the chassis to the tensioner.

your post is from some time ago, but I thought I'd answer anyway, there is always someone later that needs the same info.

You'd rather pull the motor mount over removing part of the plastic wheel well liner?!? You are a better man than I Douglas!!

I have seen a good youtube video or two in regards to replacing this tension pulley.
