READ THIS! Before You Buy Your Replacement Wiper Blades for Versa Note

A word of caution when you purchase your replacement wiper blade for your Nissan Note:

I just replaced my 28" driver side wiper blade on my Note and found out that this type of blade shown on the picture (with the wiper arm attachment on the top) will not work on the Note. The wiper arm is lifted just enough to interfere with the spray of the driver side windshield washer nozzle. The fluid squirts right on the wiper arm and not directly on the windshield.

When buying a replacement, make sure it is a low profile blade, similar to the OEM version with the attachment on the side of the blade.

On the picture below, I laid the OEM blade next to the replacement one (attached to the wiper arm) and shows about a 1/4" difference in height (as measured from the windshield).

Bill Berger and Notarized like this.

Wow, I never thought about that. Good information, since I like to put new blades in before winter.

wow thats weird. I have not needed wipers yet, but I hear so many people saying they can't find the small rear or front passenger side sized. Now this too boot. I swear the dealers/manufacturers try harder and harder to keep you from doing anything yourself on the cheap.

I agree I think Nissan is trying very hard for us to buy their wiper blades. BTW I was able to find a side mount wiper blade (can't remember the brand) but even the one I found was not as low a profile as the OEM. I also did not find a matching 12 inch length blade. I plan to just use the old short blade since it only covers about 5% of the windshield anyway. With the new replacement blade the spray still hits the arm slightly but most of the fluid ends up,on the windshield, so it's good enough.

I tried adjusting the spray (upwards a bit) but so far has been unsuccessful. I was afraid I will break the plastic nozzle.

Does anyone know how much the dealer charges to replace your windshield wipers?

I did a little research on this. MSRP for the Driver Side: $49.13, Pass Side: $40.45. There appears to be a "refill" option for reasonable $7.63 for both sides but none of the parts are available at the dealers close to me. I'll try to see if I can order the refills from my dealer.

This is strange, I have the factory blades on mine and it interferes with the driver side washer fluid.

Does anyone else use these horrible worthless blades? I had the smaller of the two fly off last night during a windy rain storm. When I finally parked I saw that these piece of junk slip in and out and are barely held in as it is. I'm hoping I don't have problems finding new blades for this car. Whoever thought these blades were a good idea should be fired.

Whoa, I hope you did not scratch your windshield when your blade flew off....

I would think everyone who bought a new Note would have these so called "worthless blades" and have used them for a while including me, although I personally wouldn't consider them worthless as they did their job without falling off.

It's just SOP for me up here in snow country to replace wiper blades before winter and was surprised on my finding that a typical replacement blade you find at a local parts store will not let your windshield washer properly work on your car.

The replacement blade I found with a side mount, although not perfect, seem to work although it's not available with a matching 12 inch length for the pass side.

WOW, that's pricey. Good to know refills can be ordered even if it's a PITA.
