Versa 2010 Fog Lights Question

Hello,

The other day I was under the car getting acquainted with it and I noticed I have it pre-wired for fog lights which is sweet and I didn't know the before.
Nonetheless I have a 2010 Versa SL hatchback, which based off of the model is why it is pre wired to begin with. My question is how do I approach adding in fog lights? If i don't go OEM and get something from ebay lets say that I plug it into the hanging wires, do I have to replace the console beside the steering wheel?

You don't have to replace it if you don't want to. It's really up to you how you want it.

You could wire them to come on with your other lights, or wire them to a switch so they only come on when you need them.

Not that I am bitter, but Ive seen some S Sedans with fog lamps. From what I can see you only get those with the higher trims and a cvt.

Have to admit I purchased the fogs before driving the car at night. Its got a nice beam pattern and spread for a basic halogen single lamp hi/lo output.

I had a 2009 S and have a 2011 SL. Both came pre-wired for fog lights. If you use these wires, it's ideal to purchase the switch containing the headlights, fog lights, and turn signals. If you don't, you'll spend countless hours trying to find a pin-out, wiring diagram, soldering points, etc. I went with the OEM switch on mine. It will NOT allow you to activate the fog lights by themselves nor in parking light mode. I'm sure there's another pin-out/solder situation to resolve that as well.

If you do not want to use those wires, which might prove to be less costly, then you certainly don't have too. I did that in my 2009. Aftermarket let's you turn them on and off with a switch easily and independently. You can use a rotary tool to cut out the factory fog inserts with ease. I suggest a Valeo Lens over any other Chinese lens as I went through 3 sets, even Spyder, that cracked. Valeo's cost more, but not more than 3 Chinese sets.

I know thread resurrection but.....

I just put fogs on my 09 S.
I bought some fogs that were on a 2013 Cube. I noticed they were Valeo.
I would assume that they are the OEM.

Valeo part number is 43403, and is a direct fit.

Nissan part numbers that will work are
26150-8990B
26150-8993B - Superceded 8990B
These fogs were on many Nissan/Infinity vehicles

If you choose stock, the turn signal switch is
25540-EE90E
This switch is very difficult to find through auto recyclers. Be easier to get through dealer.

This info is for 07-12 only.

Hope this helps

I have a 2011 s hatch that came pre-wired. What I did with those hanging wires was purchase some fog lights for a 2014 model and plugged em right in. Connected perfectly and a stalk from 2012 Sentra which was a breeze to connect as well. Mind you, I had to dremel my fog covers a certain way to fit nicely. What I’m trying to get at is that some parts are compatible, try em out.

How do I make sure that I have mine prewired? I tried opening the hood and look around with a lamp but I dind't see anything (I think). We are they located, if I have them?

Mine is a 2012 1.8 S HB.

Thanks

Run your hand under the left headlight along the radiator support and you should feel the wire and plug.

For the lights and switches, I have posted a fairly extensive thread elsewhere on this board.

thank you, I found them and they actually were very out of sight

I bought a column switch with the fogs so I'll just replace that and use the existing wiring, do I need to add a fuse somewhere or am I good to go?

thank you again

PS: actually, just out of curiosity...if I don't replace the existing column switch what happens? The fog lights just turn on with the low beams light?
