v shakes when on highway at 100km/h

so not sure where to put this thread so i thought i'd post it here.

SO yah!

Noticed a while ago after getting my tires fitted to my rims and having them put back on by a shop, and having an oil change (all done right after the other by different places)

that when i go on the highway and i hit 100km/h or 60mph
my car starts to shake, and the steering wheel shakes too, sometimes it stops for a bit but then continues.

any speeds lower than 80km/h or about 50mph
the car doesnt shake and acts normally

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do here to fix this?
or figure out whats causing it without having to go to a mechanic?

any help would be appreciated

Well, if when you went to the dealer or whoever put your wheels/tires on, they should have told you that if the steering wheel or the tires start to "vibrate" or pull when you get around 50-60mph, then the tires may not be properly aligned or they need to be rotated/re-fitted. Also, sometimes the lug nuts just need to be adjusted (whether they air tightened them too much or too little)...just keep an eye out for anything shady/different since you had them put on.

Perhaps this isn't the case, but if really don't know what it is, I'd get it looked at ASAP so you don't face something much worse in the future...possibly a flat tire, a thrown rod (very extreme), or wear your new tires bald on the side wall...or whatnot.

Good luck!

Btw, I know from first hand experience because my boyfriend got new wheels not too long ago on his car and we had to deal with a similar problem...not just giving you useless info haha

Ya get them to look at it. It definitely should not be shaking after having them installed. That does not sound too safe at all.
