2011 Versa SL - High pitched noise when not running

My versa is making a high pitched noise when it is not running. Just started yesterday. The noise could best be described as an 'ears ringing' sound like you get when listening to music too loud. The noise is non-stop even when the car is running. The check engine light is not on and the car seems to run just fine. The noise seems to be coming from somewhere inside the bottom of the drivers door.

I found a discussion on the internet where the problem was diagnosed as some type of issue with the keyless entry system alarm but, it did not say what the solution was. I have the battery disconnected right now to make the noise stop and to avoid draining the battery.

I'm not a skilled car guy but, can follow basic instructions if it is something simple. I'm hoping to avoid a trip to the dealer as the car is out of the warranty. Thanks for any help.

I took the door apart and found the source of the sound. This little grey box mounted to the door right by the access hole. The only marking on it is 'HFQ' and I have no idea what it is. When I started the car, the noise was gone, no engine lights came on and everything seems to work electronically. Any idea what this is? I'll have to go to my dealer tomorrow to find out and get the replacement I suppose.

I finally identified the part - Alarm Buzzer, Part# 25640ED02A. I'm not sure what it does exactly as the the only alarm noises I have ever heard on the car is the horn honking. It's a $20 part so, I'm happy I avoided a trip to the garage for the diagnosis.
