Haven't got a clue if this procedure will work for you, but the price is right, and you have nothing to lose:

So you normally stick your key in the slot and turn the car on? Now if you stick it in the slot you get nothing? The radio will not work? No idiot lights? No blinking key logo on dash? Sounds like the battery under the hood needs to be checked.

Im thinking you should get the radio to work and see a key logo on the dash meaning it needs to be reprogrammed to the car.

Ive never quit understood the how chip key thing while I own a honda too. Some say you program the key to the car, others say the car to the key. Regardless its an rfid chip and you can buy those separate or buy a bypass for the car.

Key

Unless you have that totally keyless model the chip in the Versa key does not control engine starting. You can go to WalMart and buy a standard metal key and start and drive your car with no problem (I have two such keys).

As mentioned you need to check your main car battery and where the power from it is going.

thanks alot for yall feedback. i got it sorted out it was actually the fob itself malfunctioning and the mechanical key wasnt working because the ignition was changed by the previous owner(i bought the car used), so what i did was jus have a mechanical key cut and reprogammed i didnt purchase a new fob because here in trinidad and tobago a new fob programmed costs 2500$ the mech key cost 1250$ so to me it was to much for both.. thanks again.!!!
