I'm new to this forum, just got a 2010 Versa wagon for my daughter to drive, first thing I noticed was that it has no heat (bought it from my mother, who hasn't driven it in well over a year). I replaced the blower fan, and the new one a.) only works on 4 (I can fix this, not the biggest issue) and b.) the new fan is rubbing against something (not sure what) noise is loud, and when I pulled it back out, there are black lines on the outside, and on the end. I can't find anything in the opening that is not attached, that would cause either the noise or the lines. There was a mouse nest inside the fan I replaced. Any thoughts? It does not seem like I install this wrong, there really isn't any other way for it to fit. The fan is quiet when not installed in the car.
Well, we pulled the windshield wipers off to get the plastic cowl piece out of the way. She reached into the ac air intake and pulled a humongous mouse (?) nest out of the blower fan. We finished the job with the shop vac and the strange noise and foul smell were gone. I had pulled the glove box previously chasing down the blower noise, and if it comes to replacing the fan or motor , there will be a 2015 Versa S on the market, really cheap...
