08 hatchback versa A/T crank no start no communication with any module. fan on

nissan versa 08. 125K miles that cranks no start no communication with ecm. and can bus scans... only showed airbag codes after trying several scan tools. fan turns on when key to on position. all fuses and relays are good i tried a new ipdm and new ecm to check if it shows communication still fan on (( ... Im guessing that teres a short or open citlrcuit somewhere in the harnesses... checked and cleaned all grounds around engine and under dashboard instrument panel since i installed a pioneer 2 din few months back but the car ran fine . had some cranks no start few times like once a week but starts on 2nd attempts... and now the fan is still on and it wont start for 3 weeks. took her to 3 mechanics they couldnt spend the time on troubleshooting electrical mysteries ..i hear the fuel pump primes too so the issue is totally electrical... cheers and any advices are much appreciated <3

The battery of course must be absolutely good and reading over 12 volts when measured. Simply charging it back up may well not be enough.

thanks alot amc49.. what do u mean with battery not charging? of course it isnt charging since the engine wont fire up ...I kept the original battery always charging at home with a battery charger and ive bought a new spare battery to do some trouble shooting... the test light shows me theres a short when i connect the battrry neg to the ground terminal thst connects to it...
@pimperrel much appreciated for the manual i have that and i followed it till i got lost... in pin numbers and colors since theres no clear explanation for the abbreviation and harness layout... i gotta check this 5 volt ref i hope it will get me closer to an answer.
theres a mechanic that he used to service the car for oil and such told me to get the camshaft sensor... but i doubt thats the issue since the communication with obd2 isnt happening....
im really lost with what to do about this little car it feels that nissan does this on purpose to have ppl spend $1000s at their dealerships .... since we bought it new 0 miles the ac never worked and tire sensor and check engine light on for o2 sensor and the dealer always gets his way around convincing us that all is fine and it will get back to normal after driving it for few hundred miles. lol and of course thats a lie... is there any one who has encountered a similar issue ?
thanks again folks.
peace

What I meant was that if the battery is bad then no amount of charging will change that. Many think you simply charge the battery and all is good again. The only way to be sure is to loadtest the battery you will use, the parts stores commonly will do it for free.

You gotta grow a backbone or the dealer will rip you off forever. And what they do once they have gotten away with it.

I feel your pain as for a great portion of my life I was very timid about stepping up to just demand what was rightfully mine like good product paid decent money for. At some point both Dad's rambunctious DNA and the pressures of the time combined to make me a strike out monster if I don't get what I pay for. Now I make THEM run the other way. Sad that it has to be that way but you do what you have to or they run right over you and I mean literally everyone, they spend great portions of their days learning to sniff weakness out in people.

You do not want to be around when I am shredding the new car dealers while looking for a car. The last time I did it the dealer sent the resident eye candy saleswoman that had all the male customers tripping over their tongues (please forgive me all you female readers out there--I have FULL respect for all women) out after me and I had to threaten to run over her when she absolutely would not move from the back of my car, she physically blocked me to keep me from leaving the dealer. They were doing the best they could to bury a $8000 down payment in the numbers to make more than half of it disappear into thin air without impacting the car price at all.

Dealers.......#[email protected]&%$#??!!!

@Denzil Cox . appreciate the advice man 🙂 im gonna do that in the Am but i doubt that cuz if it was the immobilizer the key alarm red sign would stay still during cranking... but all scenarios are possible at this point. i also got a coolant temp sensor that might be sending lots of resistance or voltage to the ecm to enter a fail safe mode..... even thats the reason i still dont see why it isnt xommunicationg and throwing codes....peace

More like a ECM power or ground issue or ECM troubles although I am not big on changing ECMs.

Must not want to fix car as can't even post whether battery is KNOWN good yet talking about weirdness. The ECM will refuse to do anything correctly with insufficient power.

Temp sensor is not doing it.
