Unhappy Radiator Fan not working, black wire loose

Hi everyone,
First post. I have a Nissan Tiida 2007 (aka Versa). When car is turn on, fan is never turning on so car is over heating. I checked wiring, there's a black wire loose close to a screw that is connected to the battery negative. Please see attached. Where should be the black wire connected? I don't want to cause a short circuit.

Thanks

Where is the other end of that loose black connected to?
There is white deposits on the loose wire and also white deposits on the wire near the battery grounding screw. Where is that wire going to?
I think the white deposit was left from corrosive material which attacked the copper wire and eventually the black wire came off from ground connection.

X2, if that wire looks like it went there then it likely did. May be a ground for the fan.
