Hi everyone! First time poster here, looking for some insight.
I have a 09 Versa Hatch 6-speed manual with around 60k miles on it. I've had the car for about a year now, with no real problems to speak of, except this.
There's a high pitched whine or whistle type sound coming from the front end, possibly from the left side. I think it's always been there, but it seems to be getting louder. It's definitely dependent on speed, with the pitch increasing as the car goes faster, and being most noticeable around 40 to 50 mph. It doesn't matter what gear I'm in or whether the engine is even on at all. What's strange about it though is that even though the sound doesn't come from the engine, it does go away partly when the V is in a gear and I am pressing the gas pedal or even going up a slight incline and trying to maintain speed, and it seems to get much louder when coasting in gear or in neutral.
This may sound stupid, but there is a bad whine from the aerodynamics of the side mirrors
