Manual trans resale value?

I figure probably less than 5% of car shoppers want a base model 5spd car so I want to ask do any of you have trouble selling your 5spd versa?

I can get a 17 versa s sedan 5spd for 11,150 or cvt for 13,050 with my employee discount. I figure buy the manual and drive it 60k miles and then sell it for 8k or so but I'm not sure how the market is on these quickly depreciating cars especially 5spd?

The reason why there is not as many Standard vehicles now a days is that (lets face it) people are lazy, they dont want to learn to drive a sick, this makes it really hard to re sell any standard vehicle. and im sure you know that the car does not hold any value after it leaves the lot, standard or not. im not trying to be a downer but it is what it is, if you are going to buy a standard make it a vehicle you will drive for a long time and enjoy driving it, not just drive untill you want to re sell it (this is just my opinion dont go by it LOL)

Thanks for the insight, I have a 13 sedan with the auto 4spd now and would only make this upgrade if I could get about 6k on trade in. Or I could lease one for $38 a week. Just contemplating getting out my my 2013 before it needs any major repairs

I thought the typical take rate of manual trans cars is 10% at best, which means you only have 10% of potential used car buyers that would consider a manual trans car which usually results in lower demand and lower values.

If you are talking about a performance or sports car, then this ratio usually becomes around 50/50.
