maintenance schedule and oil choice

which maintenance schedule are you on? After choosing tell me what oil you are running and which filter. I drive almost 3k miles a month. I can't be doing an oil change every month or so. I want to step up to the 7500 intervals. But is nissan saying do this with regular dino oil or with synthetic? My plan is to change it after 7500 and get the oil tested to see how she is doing. Just curious what you people do.

Here are the schedules if you didn't already know

Schedule Options

Premium
Every 3,750 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first. This is a Nissan-recommended option that was developed for owners who want the ultimate in preventative maintenance. With this schedule, more maintenance items are regularly checked or replaced than with the other schedules. Premium Maintenance provides the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your Nissan has been maintained at the highest level.

Schedule 1
Every 3,750 miles or 3 months, whichever comes first. This schedule offers the same service intervals as Premium Maintenance; however, with this schedule fewer maintenance items are regularly checked or replaced.

Schedule 2
Every 7,500 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. This schedule offers the least frequent service intervals, with even fewer maintenance items regularly checked or replaced.
My oil change was done at the dealer where they used Nissan filter and I believe they use valvaline oil.

full synthetic :P but if its just oil change do it your self or by someone else because nissan charge arm and a leg... get their 100 point inspection sheet and do the inspection your self lol its easy ^_^ i dont know if you want that $120 tag on a premium oil change...

I'm worried about the warranty. That is why I'm debating doing oil changes myself or not. I definately fall into the schedule 2 maintenance. I run walmart synthetic and walmart filters in my other car.

I was just curious what everyone elses oil change intervals and products were.

I only get the dealer to do my oil changes for me. Every 3000 km I go for an oil change. I don't pay them to check anything else, they charge to much.

I really hope your not going every 3000 km. That is like not even half the recomended interval.

They do charge alot and I don't plan on going their often. I just got my first oil change there and most likely will be the last. This is just my first brand new car. I want to keep the warranty intact.

o.O you can void the warranty by doing the oil change your self???? i guess dont forget to get those coupons from nissan :P or you can purchase the oil and filter and just bring it in and pay 10 dollars for the labor

I may have gotten it mixed up. I think its every 3 months or 6000 kms (whichever comes first). I always get it mixed up. I just follow the sticker they put on my windshield. Sorry, you are right, I wrote down the wrong number, lol.

I have been getting oil changes for free because of my extended warranty plan. I have one coupon left, after that I might take the car elsewhere for oil changes or do it myself. Most likely I'll take it to Costco, $19.95 for an oil change. Much cheaper than the dealership.

just looking at the service number and they actually have an oil change special for 17.95 was suprised to see that
