Anyone have an SL model?

Does anyone on this forum have or know of anyone having a 2012-present top of the line SL model Versa? Where I live, I barely ever see them. I only know of one person who has one. All I ever see is the mid-range SV model. I could understand why dealers would not stock the S model, with its lack of power amenities and a usually manual transmission, but why don't dealers stock more SL's? Come to think of it, I haven't seen a single post-facelift SL. (2015-present)

At least it has power mirrors. :^)

I rarely see any SLs in our area as well. I probably seen 2-3 in the 3 years I owned my SV. And. most of the SVs I see are most likely rental cars since they usually have out of state plates.

I think the main reason for dealers not stocking them is that the price of the SVs are creeping up into the Sentra's price range. Loaded sub compacts are typically rare as people in this market want to spend the least amount of dollars for their ride. The SL for a sub compact is quite loaded I must say!

You are right. A versa SL costs more than a base Sentra. These cars can get pretty pricy, with the Note's MSRP starting at around 15k.

When my mom was shopping around for her car, we were initially considering the Versa SV or SL, but then the dealer wouldn't wanna budge much on the price. She ended up with a Sentra SV for a bit lower than what they wanted for a Versa SL. Go figure.

I just picked up a 2012 sl last month. Was quite surprised with how loaded it was compared to my 07 versa. It only has 40k on it and I stole it at 6k.

Wow, lol. That seems to be the SL model's problem. While it's nicely equipped, it seems that most people would rather just step up a model and get a midrange Sentra for the same price. I don't blame them, seeing as the Versa's main selling point is its value/low price, which is effectively nullified with the relatively high price of the SL model.

Very nice! Especially at that mileage. I've got a friend who's mother has a 2012 SL. They bought it new, and it's been a great car for them, taking them from Central Florida to Michigan and back, and Orlando to Tallahassee countless times. Not to mention a daily commute of about 60 miles round trip Monday through Friday. Hope you enjoy it as much as they do!

Reminds me of that show pimp my ride where they take a Ford escourt and put in playstations and tv monitors. At the end of the day its still a ford escourt.

I think thats why the dealer showed me a sentry before the versa. Those were 19,999. Another dealer tried to sell me a loaded versa, altima or sentry, but I told him I was cheap and wanted a 5 speed.

Right now when I see a versa sedan I look for the lack of a wing on the deck lid. I see quite a few of those and they are silver too. Nissan shows red cars in the commercials, but most of the cars I see are either silver, black or colbolt like blue.

To tell you the truth when I one with a wing Im too busy trying to make out the blue tag on the right rear that looks like it says flex fuel or hybrid or something.

I bought a 2012 Versa Sl new and have almost 75,000 miles on it. It has the Navigation system built into the dash which I really have come to love. I did not intend to buy a SL but this was the only Versa on the lot at the time and it was still cheaper than anything else including lesser equipped cars at adjacent dealers (Chevrolet and Hyundai) at the time. If a cheaper version had been available I'm not sure what I would have done but after the fact I am very glad there wasn't!

I just bought a 2016 Versa Note SL in Metallic Peacock (colour on the top banner) and funny enough a lady that lives down my street has the exact same car and colour and it's an SL as well.

To be honest, I have never seen any SLs in our area.
