A few days ago when I was leaving the house, there was some bird droppings on the hood and a couple on the left passenger side door. Not sure what the duration of them but I had to brush them off quickly. Don't have any bug tar remover or anything fancy. They didn't come off completely but I'll wait until this Sunday and do a complete detail before going to the CONOC M&G. The roof of my car has some rainspots from the last afternoon storms but the remaining if clean and shiny.

My Versa doesn't have many scratches that I don't know about, and in fact, since I got her, there has been a scratch on the hood deep enough to see but not cause any damage from the loading trucks/trailers at Nissan. The paint scratches/swirls almost everytime something small even touches or brushes the car. If it weren't repairable, I'd be pretty upset. But other than that, I am happy with the Versa as a whole.

Does anyone else feel this way?
I agree. For what the versa's goal in life is for, I think it does that and more. I am happy for what it is, and what I paid for. But that old saying.... U get what u pay for. But the versa is different. I have people all the time ask me if this was a $20-25,000 car, I tell em no, it was under ONLY $15. But when it comes to paint, quality, parts, etc. Im not expecting much. If I was, i would have bought an altima, or maxima. But the versa meets my expectations and more. I went from 00 camry, that had amazing paint quality, and its just weird to see a brand new car in 1 yr lose so much exterior paint quality's. But its still good/excellent as a whole!!!

I paid well over $20K and am still super happy with the cost of the car, and the actual car itself. My paint is still in impeccable shape. My front bumper is very dinged from road chips but there's not much I can do about that now. The rest of the car is incredible.

I am so excited to detail the BMW tomorrow. I will have it all to myself for the afternoon and the real key (not the valet)

My brother's Mazda is not that old, but apparently it is very common among Mazda's. He has over 200K on a 02 car, and is hoping it lasts another 3-4 years (past 300K). He purchased it brand new way back when, but I can't believe how many different shades of yellow it has become.

I am going to get my Versa rust proofed again this summer. I don't want ANY rust on her ...
I will agree that it has gotten brighter and deeper for me as well. But I had to do extra care for my versa. Just washing it with meguairs shampoo and paint conditioner was not enough. But when compared to mine and my dads, mine is deffinatly brighter and deeper. But before I did any extra care, I noticed alot of the paint issues, like my dad has, lol.

Yes, a regular washing will do nothing for the paint.

I notice a difference between my brother's SE-R (which he got in Sept 09) and my Versa (april 08). My paint seems to be a deeper richer, and glossier red. I love it ... I wish I had time to detail everyone's car fully, but work gets in the way, LOL!

Yeah, I definitely agree about the paying for a cheaper car and having minor problems regarding the paint, etc. but I am really impressed with how well the the Versa actually holds up. Mine just made a year in March and nothing (knock on wood) has gone wrong for me. Although I am a very conscious car owner/driver, things like little paint scratches and knicks just happen. But overall, the Versa is a great investment and I am happy with what the car has brought me in just a year. I previously had a 94' Acura Integra that was entirely oxidized, the poor car had more paint missing than it had painted...So having the Versa with soft paint beats my old car with no paint! However, when my car got flooded at my senior ring ceremony I was upset and that wasn't why I had to get rid of it. I am just happy that things happen for a reason, cause now I am a proud Versa owner!

Sorry about the rant!

Yes but you have a BASE Versa.

Here in Canada the SL model with CVT starts around $18K, but I got mine with every feature (including the sport and tech package) so it was over $21K before tax. Then I added on the 7 year warranty.

I know mine is base but I checked all the 2010 models, and the SL with 6speed tranny was like $18K before tax, with a 5-year warranty. $21K is a little steep for a Versa...could've gotten a SE-R for that price(no offence to the Versa).

I agree, or even checked into a base altima. If I ever trade the versa in, it will be for another nissan in a few yrs and it will prolly be an altima 3.5 V6 SR.
