CVT Transmission

I bought a new 2018 versa sedan, after about 2k miles it developed an intermittent issue where I feel a shudder or shake under drivers side floor at my feet when coming to a complete stop. Only happens under 5mph when almost stopped. The shudder can be felt by passanger as well. Has anyone experienced this issue ? If so what was the diagnosis? Thanks !

I would be concerned regarding the shudder. I have a 2012 versa CVT with about 13,000 miles on it. Just prior to my power train warranty expiring, my vehicle exhibited a similar issue to yours. I would be just coming to a stop, or stopped at a red light or stop sign, and the car would just shudder and make a slight sound as if you had just released the emergency brake. In my case, the "check engine" light was on. Brought the car to the dealership, and they diagnosed it as a problem with the main control valve in the cvt transmission. They called Nissan to get authorization to make the repair to the tranny, but were instructed to replace the entire transmission instead of just repairing the one in the car. The transmission was changed out, and everything is fine right now. The replaced transmission also comes with a 12 month, 12,000 mile extended warranty. I would no longer consider purchasing ANY NISSAN CAR WITH a CVT transmission!! This problem is so prevalent that Nissan has a stockpile of CVT transmissions in the pipeline. The other issue is the fact that even with a so called "new" transmission installed, they only give you a 12 month, 12000 mile warranty.................not too much confidence in the longevity of their product. If I were you, I would definitely bring back to the dealership AND HAVE THE ISSUE DIAGNOSED AND DOCUMENTED. Good luck!!!!

Had dealership check transmission today and of course they could not duplicate the issue ! and tech stated cvt is operating normally.
It does not suprise me they couldn't duplicate it. The issue is intermittent and random without any pattern. Just happens when it happens.

This afternoon I did a monthly inspection underneath car and found oil seeping from where engine meets the transmission. This car barely has 7k miles. Unbelievable !!! Really starting to regret buying a Versa......

As other members stated in another thread, get it back to the dealer to have it documented and repaired.
