I figured I would start this thread, try to help others avoid pain and ignorance from those who are out to make a quick buck.
I posted a thread about my licence plate being ripped off. It was ripped off by their car wash, and they failed to call me to let me know they have my plate (bracket with plate attached).

Yes. They are in Utah, but if someone knows some one in Utah or ends up moving here (there) you now know of one place to avoid. Especialy since from the beginging they were complete jerks. My dad was with me to help me out, and my dad voiced his opinion (all car dealers are crooks) and the manager threatened to call the cops on him if he wouldn't leave. :facepalm:

That's all I'm going to post about them, it would be a novel if I continued.

I work at a Nissan dealership. I sell both new and Pre-owned vehicles. I cannot speak on behalf of anyone but myself. I am not crooked, nor would I intentionally keep a customer's licence plate. If this unfortunate mishap were to occur and be my fault, I would be embarrassed and make every effort not to let that ever happen again. Not all dealerships are crooked and not all salesmen are crooks. If you look at most new dealer's Customer Satisfaction scores, you would see about 70% to 80% have great customer service. The only reason why sites like TrueCar, and Edmund's TMV exists is because of the 30% to 20% of new car dealers who give the car business a bad stigma.

I have had good experiences at some dealers. However, one told me that I could never use a car wash because it would cause my sunroof to leak, and they also told me that my brand new car had to have the sunroof adjusted yearly. A definite load of crap!

I know (and my dad too) that not all dealers and dealerships are crooks. My dad was being protective of his "little girl" hence the name calling.
However this guy was lying through his teeth. (maybe i'll vent about my experiance in the vent thread.

I too have had good experiances with dealers. One that I used to go to would bend over backwards for his customers. I didn't go to him because they didn't have the vehicle I wanted (the cube, which wasn't the outcome).

Even though a Nissan dealer may not have the vehicle you want. As long as you've test driven the same model, maybe in a different color, that dealer can buy the vehicle you want at the other Nissan dealership and sell it back to you. It shouldn't be at any extra cost. Don't expect them to give the car away below invoice though. Locating/swapping cars aren't cheap.

We do that all the time for several reasons. A customer knows they can get the car elsewhere, but the customer knows how honest and friendly of a dealership we are so they rather do business with us. OR, the customer has us locate a vehicle because the one they want is just too far away.

LOL did they tell you to have the headlight fluid checked regularly too?

I knew about that. But the original dealer I was going to go to works at Nate Wade Subaru. I'm sure he could of located one and would of been willing to work with me, but at the time it didn't cross my mind. :erm:
But lesson learned when it comes to buying a car new or used car. Silver lining in all of this, brand new car that I luv, 72 month/100,000 mile warranty!

The salesman I dealt with was great at the same dealership I mentioned above, I haven't gone to them for servicing in years now; but they did find me the vehicle I wanted when I purchased from them :)

A salesman is a salesman. They are all the same. If they aren't, they get out of sales. (Direct quote from a former car salesman who works for us now).

It's partially my fault too. I didn't know much about the car buying process and didn't go to other dealerships, or push for free items or a markdown in the price. Ah well, what's done is done. In the future, I know who I'm buying from.

You do realize anyone can do that, right? All the info you need is on riv.ca. It wot necessarily save you much anymore, as prices here have been coming down and prices there going up so it is close to balanced now, and by the time you pay all the taxes/import fees on it here sometimes its not even worth it. We used to buy all our trucks there but the latest one we bought here for that reason.

Dorsett Nissan in Terre Haute, IN is ok. They dont deal a whole lot on prices, but are great about warranty work (even cosmetic things).

Versa Purchase
 
It was my birthday and I decided to visit a Nissan Dealer in Harrison,AR. The reason I went there was ... a) I was interested in the economy Versa ....b) the salesman on the phone said there was no 'timeline' on "deals" or "rebates" ..... c) it was a nice drive from my place. I'm fussy & particular when it comes to spending money; I'm also sensitive to 'car salespersons' whose personalities can easily rub me the wrong way. My intention that day was to simply 'view' a few vehicles, however I ended up purchasing a 2012 Versa SV for $16,000. It was the easiest, stress-less business deal I have made in a long time ... all staff at Wood Motor Co. were 'relaxed', pleasant, accommodating, and made me 'comfortable' in every way.:)

I purchased my 2011 Nissan Versa S 1.8L Sedan last week at Automax in Ocala, FL. I got a great deal since I know the General Manager of Ocala Nissan (Which is owned by the same guy "Pierson"). We had a price set at $10,6xx and I did a loan through the bank after looking at their financing. Then they tacked on a $600 maintenance fee, which I couldn't just straight up afford on a hours notice. But with tag, tax, and title all included I paid a total of $11,670.

The best part of this story is that we took it to Ocala Nissan where close friends and family work and they checked the whole nine yards, had to replace all my filters, flushed the radiator, changed transmission and engine oil, and pretty much everything that they should of done in the maintenance which I was told that they...quote on quote..."Just topped off the oil".

Now they're charging Automax for the parts to get my suspension fixed, the maintenance and I'm getting my windows tinted on the side.

Between 1 (being terrible) through 10 (being awesome)

They did give me a good deal only because they feel obliged but still didn't do what they need to do, I guess certified pre-owned can be certified by anyone.
Ocala Nissan: 10
They took care of everything free of charge and I get some gain out of the windows being tinted, only negative thing was that I was looking forward to detailing my car first.

I purchased my '14 Note at Monken Nissan/Chrysler-Jeep in Centralia IL. Monken Auto, Nissan Chrysler Dodge Buick Chevrolet GMC Jeep RAM, in Southern Illinois been a Nissan dealer since the 70's.

First time car buyer and things were done professionally. Talked with the owner, joking and laughter, and very positive sales force.

I bought my Note from Five Star Nissan in Warner Robins, GA . In hindsight, I should have gone to another dealer, but I chose Five Star due to it's convenient location to my home.

Five Star wasn't horrible, but they weren't great by any means. My salesman and his manager both told me that one of the first things they do to every vehicle is deflate the tire and refill them with "nitrous". LOL....come on guys, you fill tires with nitrogen. I didn't have the heart to correct them. Also, they basically threatened not to honor my warranty if I did any of my oil changes myself. There were some other issues that rubbed me the wrong way, but suffice it to say I would never go back there.

I guess I was expecting the same level of professionalism that I received from Downtown Nashville Nissan when I bought my wife's Quest.....they set the bar pretty high.

I had a very nice sales person who didn't bullshit me at all and was easy to talk to. He let me take the car out back and have some fun as I got use to the manual. The people here made the paperwork very easy and helped explain every single sheet that I signed. I could tell the people here cared more about keeping loyal to customers so they would come back over just making a sale.

Bought my new '08 Versa at Rosen Nissan, Gurnee, IL.
Decent dealership, tried some pretty cheap tricks to sell the car; nothing bad, but as we walked in after the test drive, another salesman yelled out, "hey, you selling that blue Versa?". Obviously staged, it was just a way for them to imply that if we didnt buy it now, it was going to sell to the other couple. getting service there was good as well, they gave us the first 2 scheduled maintenance stops free.

Bought my new '13 Quest from Libertyville Nissan, Libertyville, IL.
The van was already marked down $11k from sticker, so they weren't moving any more on price, but they worked hard to get us payments and term that were agreeable (it was optioned more than we wanted, but the deal was fantastic). salesmen were good, no real tricks were played. Pretty easy going, they allow you a little time to browse on your own before either someone approaches you, or you walk up to the counter and ask for someone. Service there has been the best dealer experience I've ever had. Very thorough, informative, and easy to negotiate parts prices.

Bought my old used '07 Murano at Arlington Nissan, in Arlington Hills, IL.
Part of the Rohrman group, We eventually got a fair deal, but the process was torturous. The salesman played a switcheroo on us... we went there to look at an '05 and '06... the '05's hatch wouldn't close, and he conveniently "couldn't find" the '06, so he pulled out a pristine, loaded, '07 (notice what we ended up with). Of course we liked that one better. Back and forth for hours negotiating price. Service there was good as well. they didn't charge me when I had it in to diagnose a CVT concern that they couldn't pinpoint, and offered to keep it longer to try and duplicate.

I love my car dealership. Went in for my monthly oil change and as always I went outside to look at the new 2015 cars they had out. My Nissan dealership is right next to a Honda and a Ford dealership, so you can walk to each one with ease. I headed towards the Ford dealer since I wanted to see if they had the new 2015 Mustang out yet. My face must have been easy to read because only a few steps on the lot and a sales person came out with a huge grin and simply asked, "Want to see the new Mustang?" Hell yes I want to see the new Mustang. We went over and even though he knew I wasn't buying one, he gave me the whole talk about how amazing the car was and let me sit in the new 2015 GT package with the Recaro seats. Holy fucking shit balls in the interior much better then the past Mustangs. Simply beautiful, easy to use and helps you feel like you are sitting in a very luxurious vehicle. The shifter is perfect which made me realize what a huge difference of an ecobox is to a sports car. The clutch was completely different then what I have, but at the same time felt just right for the car and easy to deal with on a daily basis. The only part of the car that I'm not sold on yet is the rear. Just isn't as nice as the 2014 model in my opinion. If I was looking for a daily sports car, the new Mustang would be very high on my list. I still can't stop thinking about it.

I also didn't have to pay any money on getting my tires rotated since I had reward points. So far I'm really loving my dealership. Always a blast talking to the guys and seeing they even work with Honda and Ford which they are next to. It must be working since I always see cars flying off the lot.

i bought two nissan versa notes at two different dealers.
 
the 1st note was purchased as byerly nissan of louisville ky , the dealership experience was the best i have ever had , the salesman Bob Seffen was the greatest salesman i have ever dealt with we done all negotiations over email and phone , i showed up at the dealer and was out in 30 minutes

the 2nd not was a different story i went to walters nissan of pikeville ky , the sales people would try to play the interest rate game saying oh your credit would only allow this rate, and i asked what my credit score was then they started back peddling then they said i could qualify for a lower rate , but this rate was still higher so i pulled up nissan website on my phone and it showed the current nmac rates and i told them shouldnt i qualify for the nmac rates with my credit score ? so after about 3-4 four hours haggling and challenging them over interest rates and catching them in several lies i finally got the car at a price that was kinda fair (keep in mind i could have driven a few hours away got a better price on the car ) all that being said if they start playing the interest rate game just walk out

I was at Glendale Nissan in Glendale, CA yesterday. Lots of customers there, I guess for the Labor Day holiday. The dealer was grilling hamburgers so customers could grab a free hamburger and soda. I was there to buy clips/fasteners for the front and rear fenders because I took off the splash guards (mud flaps) that originally came with my car when I bought it brand new.

The parts department was closed so I looked at the brand new Versa Notes without splash guards on the lot to see what kind of fasteners they had. Just as I thought, they are different from the clips that attached the splash guards to my car. While I was there, I figured I'd test drive the new Versa Note to see if it's throttle/gas pedal was super sensitive like my car. Turns out most of their brand new Versa Notes on their lot were 2015's so I test drove a SL Tech Package. It didn't seem to have a very touchy/sensitive gas pedal but maybe that's because I've gotten accustomed to my car's sensitive throttle. I also test drove a brand new 2015 Versa Note S with the 5-speed manual transmission for fun. It's super easy to shift the gears; the clutch pedal is easy to push down but the gearing is super short.

The main point I want to make here is that most of the brand new Versa Notes on the lot were 2015's even though the 2016 calendar year is almost over. They had the factory window stickers showing the MSRP, list of features and options, EPA fuel economy ratings, etc. The SL Tech Package that I test drove had less than 40 miles on it so, unless the dealer fiddled with the odometer, it was a brand new car. I thought it was very strange that there were so many 2015 brand new Versa Notes there. Maybe they had more 2016's in their back lot or that dealer traded for all remaining brand new 2015's from other dealerships throughout Southern California. Has anyone seen this scenario happen before?

I give the salesman a 10. He was a great guy and answered all of my questions. He even followed up on the sale. I told them what I wanted to pay and they honored that price. The problem I had was with the sleezy finance/business manager. You know the guy that you sit down with and sign the papers. The one that always pushes all of the unnecessary crap they want to make money on. I had already been approved by Capital One and had a low interest rate. As soon as I got into Jeff's office he stated that we were being video taped. Fine. That didn't bother me. But he proceeded to present me with papers to sign that had a higher interest rate than what I was promised. When I called him out on this he stated that he needed to go into the next room and call Capital One. Why? If the transaction is being recorded for honesty purposes than why not make the phone call on video? I was being held to that. I told him I was going to walk away from the deal. I was not going to be taken advantage of. He got up anyway and went to the next room. Came back about 15 seconds later (not long enough to make a phone call) and told me he would redo the contract for the interest rate I was promised. Why is it that I can have such a great car buying experience up to the point I get into the finance/business office? Never fails. These guys are what gives car buying such a negative stigma.
Do I recommend Trophy Nissan of Mesquite, Texas? No. Based on the sleezy actions of the finance/business manager I will never go back. Nor will I recommend them to anyone. In fact I have another local Nissan dealer that I will use for warranty work and oil changes.

At the local Nissan dealer where I bought my Versa, the Versas and Notes are the last to be sold. My 15 sedan had sat on the lot for 25 months. Some of the other sedans at the time of my sale were turned into dealer service loaners.

Got my Versa at Metro Nissan in Monclaire CA just today. Great experience and got it for the 9988 price plus fess and rebate 1000. Of course this deal is not all the time but they did not put pressure and did not try to make me buy add on and extras
