I don't know much about the companies...they probably make good stuff but I can't say. Never bought their products..

I would be interested but I don't have that kind of money. I wish that I did though. Would be nice to be the only V around with a Turbo kit (but I want a supercharger lol)

really i think if nvf is going to go balls to the wall to get stuff made for the V you/we should start with other parts needed to make a turbo usable. the guy that bought foxs turbo said he needed a better clutch (not available) and better engine managment(also not available).

LOWER IT

What does that make garrett then? Or are they not as popular on your side of the pond?

Only thing we would need is an exhaust manifold. Everything else for turbo is available. SAFC, Emanage, or a standalone can be used for engine management. As far as a clutch goes one and modify a stock one or possibly source one from a different car that will fit. I'm sure the stock clutch will hold up just fine for light boost. I am running a stock clutch that came in a car that was 117whp. The car now has 196whp and it's still holding fine.

The Fox Marketing kit was made by Turbochargers Inc. out of Houston. They told me $5k to fab another kit up and tune the car. It'd take them a week to do. I would have to source a new clutch (I have an A/T BTW), so I decided to forget it. The parts themselves aren't that expensive (maybe $1500 - $2,000 for good stuff). The rest is time to fab the kit up and tune the car electronics.

And you don't need a turbo exhaust manifold. You can run the piping off the factory header or something else (like an OBX header). Would it great to run it off the manifold, yes. But there isn't much space where the exhaust manifold is currently. Fox ran theirs off the factory manifold. And remember theirs was a show car. They didn't run it for 100,000 miles to prove the system wouldn't die or destroy the engine after xx miles. If you're serious about putting $5k into a $14k car, bring it on. Most people aren't that serious. I can think of maybe 1 person that would put their money where their fingers are, and that would be Bob at VersaSpeed. He has the connections and ability to get it done right.

I already asked Impul Japan about a Supercharger for the 1.8L and they are not working on a kit. They have one available for the 1.5L though (not that it helps anyone). They do have an ECU available for the 1.8L that just came out.

the 1.5 is the same family of engine as the 1.6. They are both HR engines so it may be of some use to the 1.6l guys. And before you say if you wanted more power why not get a 1.8 let me say this. My 1.6 is 2-300 lbs lighter then the 1.8's.

I didn't know fox marketing used the stock manifold. Anyone have any pics of this?

edit: after looking at the versa engine it seems with a revised intake manifold, one that didn't wrap around the top of the engine you would have room for a top mount turbo. Only issue is hood clearance. Basically the turbo would sit above the engine and the intake would be in the front by the radiator.

I already like the enthusiasm here about the Turbo. What members don't have is the money and the supply is lacking.

Man, I wish we had variety like the Fit! :mad2:
