changing the lighting behind the center console system

alright, first off.. i might call this "center audio& entertainment console" : dash. not to be confused with the dash where your gauges are. this is.. your central dash? haha

anyway. as you guys might know, the 11 and the 12 versa have an orange backlight to the buttons and controls on the dash. its.. nice? but i dont dig the halloween theme that comes along due to my black interior.. and it doesnt match well with the white LED light pouring from gauges. ( i have '12 versa sedan)

so i was wondering, is it psosible to remove this dash to see the wiring and bulbs behind it, and if it is, to change the bulbs behind it to maybe a blue LED system? thanks

This sounds like a great idea, but I don't think it can be done.

It is better to have lived and lost, than to listen to another record, by Olivia Newton John.

That's going to be a lot of work and the LEDs are most likely soldiered in the board of the center dash itself. It's possible, but do you want to sacrifice all your time and money for this project? There's one guy, Scuba Steve who added LEDs to the window switches on the door for the passenger side and the rear passenger doors.

LOL, on the halloween themed dash!

If someone pulls their dash apart, please post it here, i am also interested in this. I got the same Halloween theme going on, and don't much care for it, would love some blue.

I agree. I too would love a post in here showing how it was done and the pics afterwards. I love Halloween, but I don't want it all year round. *bahaha*
I want all of my other lights to match the cluster gage, white.

in order to get to the climate controls you have to remove the dash panels around the headunit. then u remove the panel thats directly underneath it (pops right out). popping off the cover for the climate controls is very easy and straight forward, 4 small clips along the outside that you gotta pop it off of.

heres the inside of the climate control

heres the bulb and its holder popped out together.

I will be getting bulbs for it soon to test it out. they are T5 bulbs (or #74) either name works. or you can try and find an led bulb built into a holder of that style like this.
