2nd gen gauge cluster swap

can the manual cluster be swapped with the automatic cluster? The automatic cluster looks way nicer and has a temp gauge. I'll be attempting the swap soon but if anyone has input that'd be helpful! And yes I realize the mileage will be off.

i always admired the sl-sv dash clusters because it looks better than the base model that just has the spedo and rpm. good luck on your swap.

On most gauge clusters you can remove the odometer and swap yours in. But, you may not even need to do that. Many OEMs are starting to store the mileage on the ECM so your mileage can be retained with a cluster swap. I'm considering doing this as well, so I might find out soon.

update: I got the other cluster for the swap (see pic below) and they have the exact same connection size in the back. I tried to see if it was plug & play but its not. The auto cluster receives no power so it looks like i'll have to re-pin the connection. Also the gauge cluster bezel comes apart in two pieces. The outer large piece then some kind of adapter bezel to fit. Im guessing the second piece is what's needed for the auto cluster. More pics later.

Does anyone know where I can get a pinout for the clusters?

@wickedgk What is the production date on your new cluster, and what year is your car? It looks like Nissan made a change to the clusters in March of 2014. So cars produced between 4/1/2013 and 3/1/2014 have different gauge clusters than those produced after that. According to the Nissan Parts website, if you buy a compatible year cluster, it should work with all Versas.

I believe the change was that the revised cluster included a tachometer but i could be wrong. The new cluster is a 2012 model going into my 2014. I ordered the pigtail connector for the 2012 cluster and will splice it into my existing harness.

The auto cluster immediate blows the "elec" fuse when connected. Updates soon to come

I've been pretty busy lately and havent had a chance to work on the cluster swap (working on three other cars lol). I might get around to it this weekend.

again, if anyone has a wiring diagram, pin-outs, etc. that would be very helpful to me!

Any updates?

Hi wickedgk,

Any news about the swap?

Did it work? I'm interested in doing this too.

Thanks!
