Orthopedic 1" lift pedals installed.

Long story short about 5 years ago, on my last midlife crisis, I ripped my right femur apart racing BMX. I had 1" of bone loss and the leg is cocked to the right a couple of degrees.

I've had the Versa for 2 years and my shifts sucked. Always jerky and timing was off. Recently I was driving with a 1" lifted shoe which helped a lot but you can't feel anything through all that hard rubber.

Started looking for custom pedals from the handicapped world and the were ugly and expensive. So I hit ebay and picked up various sets of pedal covers to experiment with. Here's some photos of the final choice and install.

It sound funny but if feels normal/level driving again. Timing is dead on and smooth. And now I can heel toe as well.

Side/related note, I also purchased another footwell piece from a boneyard as my foot would get stuck due to the way the trimmed that piece back for the recall.

Thanks!

Forgot to mention that I already found my second mid-life crisis. Autocross! Yep, going to run the Versa. I found an autocross group that runs the first weekend of each month at the old army airstrip that is now run by mosquito control.

Rims and tires are on order/backorder with CarID and of course a whole bunch of stickers to make the car go faster are en route.

Nice, you're all set then. Fastest way to tune your versa is with the HP gaining stickers Can't wait to hear about the autocross experience. I know for a fact that at least one other member in here does it, and from what he describes is awesome.

Here's a link to my "build" photos. http://tinyurl.com/hb5xh7s It gets updated as I buy stuff. I'll make a build post when the rest of the stuff comes in.

With all the stickers I've purchased I must be putting 500 at the wheel now. Waiting for the rims and tires to show up, then get the hood wrapped with genuine fake carbon fiber and add the stickers for max boos.

Good job on the pedals and welcome to Autocross! I've been regularly Autocrossing in a Versa for three years now and started getting onto the track with it last year. I've done loads of mods with Autocross in mind so feel free to hit me up if you have any questions.

Thanks for the reply, yes I would love any tips or anything related to Autocross. Looking at your signature I see a great list. Been pondering the four wheel alignment with some camber added to the rear with the shims as well.

Do you have a thread running with your autocross tips and events?

Looks like my first run won't be till at least April, they run monthly but my rims and tires are on backorder till late March..

I don't think there's any Autocross threads but I'd be willing to start one. Unless your street tires are on their last leg I'd run the car on them before the wheels and tires come it, you're not going to break anything. What kind of tires are you getting? Have you Autocrossed before and what organization is running the events? It's great to find someone else wanting to Autocross a Versa!

To say my tires are on their last leg would be an understatement. 27k and all 4 are at the wear bars. The front pass maybe has 1/32 left. The asphalt down here is made with crushed shell. Like driving on sandpaper.

Back in February I ordered the CAPITOLŪ 3CAP603 - SPORT UHP (215/45ZR17 W) as the reviews were good and it is what my wife has on her Mazda 5. I threw it into some turns and on-ramps and liked how they felt.

Here is the group, Welcome to GCAC search youtube for Buckingham Autocross and you will see a lot of nice vids.

Would be interested in your input, history, mods and tips on an autocross thread as I have ZERO experience other than watching videos and trying stuff on turns. I think you should start one. I'm hoping to run the first weekend in April and will take some vids.
