Outside Temperature Guage

Living in Virginia it gets a bit nippy in the winter - I think that an outside temperature guage should be standard kit for all new cars sold. Anyway - I found this bugger on EBay - eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices which didn't seem too bad at $15 delivered.

This was the only place I could find where it could fit - I was going to shove it in the compartment above the radio but I made a miscalculation! The pic shows the view from my normal driving position so it doesn't get in my way at least for me. The clock and voltage guage are handy too. The orange backlight matches the orange on the odometer.

I want one of these to replace my wal-mart thermometer.. I'm not sure about the placement though, I might try other locations first. It's little mods like this that I enjoy the most

2008 Versa S:
-Throttle Controller
-DC Exhaust+Intake
-Strut brace+Sway bar
-Spec-V Wheels
-H&R Sport Springs
-Navi HU, Pioneer Spkrs, 2x10" CV Subs.

Make it Handle, Make it Brake, Make it Fast
The Versa Vlog!

The two wires from the unit poke under the panel that's above the instruments. The power went to the 12V outlets that I have above the radio and the sensor wire I routed above the pedals and then beneath the door seal which I pulled away from the body. The wire is small enough for it to sit under the door seal quite happily. The sensor then just sticks to the bodywork in the door jamb.

I tried it in all sorts of places but it was always at the wrong angle to actually be able to read the display. Took me a few days to notice that I could stick it where I did and I'm actually quite pleased with it - doesn't get in the way of the instruments at all for me.

I only do little mods as I'm frightened of doing big ones.....
