Question How to remove rear view mirror?

What is the best way to remove the rear view mirror?

I have a hatchback 2011 S, so I just have a plain rear view mirror. I am thinking of replacing it with an auto dimming mirror w/ homelink, but have no idea on how to go about removing the current mirror.

I'm not 100% sure but there should be a couple screws holding it to the roof(under the plastic cover). I removed one of my visors and the process was very similar. Give it a try and let us know how it goes. Easy on the plastic...clips break easy.

My mirror is attached to the windshield, not the roof.

There are no visible screws that I can see.

my guess is that it slides up somehow. check to see if there is any place where a flathead may be inserted into the base of the mirror where it connects to the glass..stick a flathead in there and slide up.

I did it once, and cant remember how, lol. I just remember sticking a flat head screw driver up in the hole, and pushing up, and it popped off.

Finally got around to doing this.

Stuck in the flat head screwdriver, tapped slightly w/ a hammer, and it just popped off.

Thanks for the all the help!
