Preventing Break-Ins

Ok, so some of you know that my car got broken into like 3 weeks ago, another car in my parking garage got ransacked last week, and now I just discovered that my roommates car got broken into today and hes out of town...

does anyone have ANY advice on how to stop this? or is everyone in my complex just shit out of luck. and the landlords wont take responsibility, the garage is gated off.

See if that were me, I would have bought n a proximity sensor, and set it real sensitive, and buy a little camera to record what happens every day. Then if nothing happens, erase it, and start over everyday. then when it does happen, u can see whos been do n it, and take it to farther investigation. Cause then u have proof, and most likely, it wont happen again, if police can find them and take matters into their own hands. It sounds like alot of work, but my car is worth it. Especially if break ins keep happening like that. But this is just my two cents of what I would do. Im sure their are some people with better ideas.

Sorry to hear about all the break ins. Is there no type of security in your parking garage?

Yeah, its a neat little system. Its a 2-way pager. Im sure youve heard of them. I have a video of the remote start on facebook, and youtube. But I was concerned about leaving my car unattented overnight at the end of a walmart parking lot. So I bought this system for the doors, But it also came with an interior impact sensor, and remote start. So I can leave the windows down, u just "touch" the steering wheel, and the system goes off, disables starter, and my remote beeps and vibrates till I pull it outta my pocket, and then on the screen shows me what was intruded. Like the door, hood, trunk, inside. Its never been used so far, cause no one has attempted to touch my car. Or its cause I threated everyone I dare them to touch my car, and see what happens, lol!!! But it did make a pre warn noise one day outside at home, I didnt hear it, but my remote beeped and thats how I knew something happend. When I went outside, it was windy, and our trash can rolled down the hill and hit my car. lmao. So the interior impact sensor picked that up. Now my system is expandable. So Im thinking about buying an external impact sensor and glass breaker. I would do proximity sensor, but my dad parks right next to me at home, and my group of friends park around me at work. So I dont want it going off every min. But for u it may help. Then if they are caught, u could always adjust the sensitvity. I got my system at sonicelectronix.com. Great deals!!! I hope everything im telling you is helping u. But I think u metioned at one time u had an alarm system?!?! But that coulda been someone else, lol.

Yes my sister in law has the same alarm and remote start on her Jeep. I've always liked it. It's just kind of pricey. Especially since I park in the garage.

Mine never goes off. But once again, my impact sensor is inside, under the dash. But im sure when I upgrade it, it will go off in the storms, lol

Lol. It's funny how our cheapest car in our driveway is all decked out with stuff. When I was cleaning it I was holding the wiper up and when it fell back and hit the windshield the alarm went off. It's very annoying sometimes.
