bad maf sensor

How we would we know if our MAF sensor needed cleaning??

Fuel economy, rich or lean codes, IAT or MAF specific codes if it's bad. There's no reason to clean it under 90% of circumstances. They're good reliable MAF's that don't seem to be particularly sensitive as the hot wire ones are. Ours use the same principle but it's two resistors on a plate, one after the other that use the temp/voltage differential at both resistors to determine air mass.
