Nissan Sway Concept Previews Hatchbacks to Come

Quote:
Small cars donít have to be devoid of style.

Thatís the message Nissan is looking to get across with its new Sway concept, which debuted today at the Geneva Motor Show.

Taking design cues from the likes of the new Murano SUV and Maxima sedan, the Sway concept makes use of an angular ďV-motion grilleĒ up front and plenty of dramatic lines. Other design highlights include the hiked-up C-pillars, floating roof and boomerang taillamps.

Inside the car gets a clean cabin inspired by the IDx concept.

Too radical, will never make it to production. But, if it did it would be a hatch I would buy.

I like this. Even though I see a strong resemblance to the Elantra GT. There doesn't seem to be much talk of this coming to the US. It's marked as a micra replacement though it seems much larger, almost NOTE sized. I can see this being the second generation NOTE for us here in the US.

As far as watering it down it will happen for sure but might not be as much as people think. That latest concepts of the Murano and sports sedan look pretty damn close to the production murano and maxima. Not to mention the invitation concept is pretty spot on to the NOTE SR. Id doesn't look like the regular NOTE but very close the SR in my opinion.

I expect to see this with door handles, mirrors, normal roof, less flash bumpers and unfortunately the C-pillar which makes it have the floating roof design will be shiny black plastic and not glass like in the concept. Which is one thing I absolutely hate that nissan does.
