The Versa came into existence because of the economic times. Therefore it has been cheap for the hard times.

I also feel the next Versa will go upmarket. Nissan's chief designer has admitted the sedans are weak in the styling department and it's time for a change.

Also another fact people seem to overlook is that consumers are not really buying the cheapest models, they are buying the higher trim levels when we look at transaction prices. $15k average transaction price last time I checked for the Versa sedan.

Exactly. I was one of maybe two 1.6's on here for a long time. People can't seem to do without the gadgets. The Sentra S really is a better choice, especially with incentives. Under $16k new with ac, pw windors, doors, 6spd transmission, folding rear seats, LED's headlights and tails, fine vision gauges, 16" wheels, etc. The list really goes on.

This goes back to my point of making a Versa Sentra. There is so much standard at the low price of $16k, actually $15k after incentives that they could strip it down some and charge even less. 15" wheels, no folding seat, no keyless entry, cheaper radio, No LED's, maybe even the 1.6 engine and I'm sure plenty more. But still keep the higher quality cabin and higher quality look and feel. Put this imaginary Versa Sentra with a price of $13,790 which is what the current Versa Sedan S costs and we get a better vehicle with as much goodies for the same price.

I like having the stripped-down Versa sedan and Versa Note. I can do without Bluetooth, backup camera, navigation, etc. The problem is that the Versa sedan (2nd generation debuted in 2012) is hideous. Then the 2015 refresh/facelift made it even more hideous, ruining the only good part of the design, the front of the car.

Based on the 2012 re-design, I would've never considered the Versa, even though I liked that it was basic transportation, light weight, slightly smaller exterior dimensions than the previous generation, and affordable (cheapest brand-new car in America). I was totally surprised (pleasantly surprised) when I first saw the Versa Note. I'm thinking to myself, "Why can't the Versa sedan look as good as the Versa Note?"

Bought a 16 SV Note for CVT/Bluetooth/Cruise/Size/Price/Gas mileage......so based on multiple comments here I don't think they can combine the two into one cheaper car.
