*Repost*

I posted this on another blow off topic"What the frack Nissan". Didn't mean to bring up an old fight. That thread got closed. Anywho..
My drivers side headlight has blown twice in the 9-10 months I've owned my V. I emailed the dealer and asked if it was normal. The service manager replied today, he said "the answer is yes. it is normal to have replaced two bulbs within a year. However, if I got the bulbs installed by them, they would be guaranteed for 12 months."

some reason, this just doesn't sound right.

I've never had stock bulbs blow like that. You sure your headlight is sealed properly? Do you get any condensation in them. Only time I have had bulbs blow is when I put "hyper white" style in. I got so sick of them blowing I only stick with the stock type bulbs. The ones that have a yellowish look to them.

No worries on the other thread.

I dunno. Never heard of that. Ive been using Euro dezign bulbs for 2yrs and im sick of them. They were lifetime guaranteed, but im tired of replacing them every 4-6 months. I think im moving on to halo lights. Bob from versapeed says hes had them in his fog lights for 2yrs now and no problems, so I think im gonna go with them in the next 2-3 months.

What brand were the hyper white bulbs you were using? Cause some brands are good and some are just bad. They recommend sylvania when you look up on the guide and I know that nokya bulbs are excellent quality too.

Best to my knowledge there is no condensation inside the headlight. I put in Sylvania bulbs, the drivers side blew. I put the stock bulbs back in and the same side blew. Service manager mentioned either oil on bulb when I changed them (I made sure not to touch the bulb) or, possibly wiring harness.

If you're extra carefull when handling the bulbs then it has to be the harness.

*Update* another bulb blew last night, same freaking side. Scheduling an appointment with the dealer while it's still under warranty.

Yeah that is definately not normal, I can see 2 in a year with really bad luck but really I've never gone through more than a bulb every 2 years or so and I drive quite a bit, let us know what they say.

Went to dealer today. They said the electrical is not covered under warranty. They wanted $85 for diagnostics fee. If they could find anything wrong with it, I would have to pay parts and labor. I declined their service today as I didn't have cash on me due to thinking the warranty would cover it.
