Could this have saved Pontiac?

http://www.chrisleithperformance.com...EW9A9109013/#1

This is an actual car, I have seen and placed my hands on it. It is a one off, custom hand built car and is currently for sale. I think if they would have held out and mass produced this car, it could have single handedly saved the brand.

Any questions about it, feel free to ask. I know a lot about it lol.

it wouldn't of saved the brand.
I've actually seen those types of cars and its a mock up from a 2010 camaro ss body and engine. chris leith performance only made 4 of these custom camaros. all it is, is someone trying to bring back a firebird concept using the exact specs of a 2010 camaro. I know this cause I have seen it at NOPI and am an avid camaro fanboy. (I own a 98 z28 fbody specs: ls1 v8 turbo charged)

the car is basically a bad joke. just an aftermarket hood, a firebird decal, aftermarket headlights and a few pontiac badges. Plus they sell on ebay for 60k.

another way to get money for a car that runs on dreams and looks.

sweet dreaming though. would be great to see a 2012 ws6 trans.

A Devil Eyed 2010 Camaro. Similarities Anyone?!

Ive heard rumors that you can actually order a new camaro with a Trans Am kit thats dealer installed for like $20k. I havent seen proof, but it sounds just like a body kit similar to what was posted above.

There is a company that makes a 69 front end conversion for the new Camaro that looks pretty nice.

I used to have a 02 Z28 that ran 11.1 @ 122, and Im actually planning on selling my Versa come spring to pick up a new Camaro. Thats why ive been ordering, and fixing all the crap thats wrong with my car, so I feel safe selling it private parts.

pretty nice looking. That would be awesome if the dealer can add a transam option to the camaro. But not for $20k!

kolk1 your car was fast! Get rid of the V and get yourself into another hotrod. How can you drive our cars after having something with that much power. I came from a boosted infiniti g20 with only about 240hp. Might have ran a mid 14 1/4 if everything went perfect and God was on my side. No where near the performance of your car and I find driving the Versa very boring.

I sold the Camaro and bought C5 Corvette, it did 527whp 544wtorque when I sold it, then went to a 2006 Daytona Charger. About 6 months later, long story short, I got injured, lost my job, almost went bankrupt, sold the Charger and bought the Versa. Now 3 years later, everything has been going great for the last 2.5 years, and thats why im planning in spring to sell my Versa for about 7-7500, pay it off, and with the month left over, plus some money from savings, put about $8k or so down on a new Camaro. Luckly through all of this, ive managed to keep my bike. So Ive still have something laying around to fill my need for speed.

Pontiac couldn't have been saved, GM went way too much on cars and brands, ultimately leading them to shutting some down, plus the last of the pontiac's are rebadges. The Saturn brand was independent, but wasn't selling.

That is a body kit for the Camaro, you can tell by the shape of the body, this is all over the GM forums, I think it looks horrible, but I also hate the new gen Camaro.

Thats awesome. My Z28 runs high 11's. It tears through a lot of the cars down at the track and almost all on the road. it was my first car. then I got the V as my DD.

Kolk1 Goodluck with the new camaro, they are not only pretty but they back it up with 600hp out of the factory.

The car looks nice but no, GM was going down because of the economy and poor management, I'm done with my need for speed, the only time I speed is on XBOX live

long story short, had a bad bad wreck, totalled my car, don't know what happend, just woke up at the hospital not knowing why I was there, got out of the hospital on a wheel chair, had short term memory problem, went to see my car and it had blood all over the air bag, I hit a traffic train pole somehow on a rainy day and the front was all smashed and my lunch for work was all over the back seat( spaghetti ) so I'm done speeding.

To clear the air on this post, yes its built on a 2010 Camaro platform, but no V, its not a "bad joke". This was rebuilt by hand, included an all aluminum one-off Pontiac 455 engine. It is a nice car though. There were talks of making a "bad joke" conversion kit which would consist of just a basic face lift. Lingenfelter makes a conversion kit too, which looks like total crap. Its based on a '72 Firebird I believe. This one is an amazing car, albeit a very overpriced one. I just feel if they had held out the brand a little longer and built this car as the factory trans am, it would have outsold the camaro. Pontiac did indeed die though because of its lack of originality. Most of its cars were rebranded chevy cars. Just think this looks better than the camaro SS, not to take anything away from the Camaro. A couple family members own them and they are good looking and powerful cars. Just giving my opinion.

IMO, I'm glad to say goodbye to Pontiac. Most of them looked like Chevys, and the rest looked like they sat in the microwave too long. I'd rather just get a sporty Chevy. I had a 2dr Cavalier w spoiler and 4dr Lumina Euro.

That said, I like this "Pontiac" better than I thought I would. Doesn't look like a Grand Am prune or a Sunfire bar of soap! Not bad!
