Nice! I love s12's! They are awesome. Can't wait to see pics. Is it a v6?

#5 · (Edited)
Its not the v6 :( but I gotta check in the morning I can't remember what the guy said it was but the motor isn't marked that I saw. But I will check and report back in the morning with pics :)

right now clean it up get it running at 100% and relearn stick lol then one day build the motor up/v6 swap and work on handling

I love a good project:biggrinjester:imo go with sr20det swap instead of v6, especially if handling is important. Is it 1.8 or 2.0 currently? Wow it's in pretty decent shape!

Very cool man, it also resembles my dad's Subaru XT a lil.

Keep us posted on the build. :thumb2:
i think it also resembles a 1990s toyota supra

Took a new driveway pic now just a nissan family lol put the dakotas old tags on temp so it don't get towed till I can get tags prolly tomarow. Can't wait to drive it sucks that its got to sit for now oh well I topped off all the fluids today.

that's pretty nice! I like the hatchbacks myself. That looks like a CA20E engine. It's a 4 cylinder with 8 spark plugs.

This is a pic of a nice hatchback I seen online

#15 ·
Yep I-4 with 8 plugs still ain't found or for sure what it is lol went digging a bit through the car today found the original spare tire jack and tool kit are on it in good shape and its got the original owners manual.

I told you what it was. It's a CA20E. Common swap is a KA24e or KA24DE.

#17 ·
Oh...

Lol my bad so what's that a 2.0? I'm not really that familiar with these motors thats what I thought it was.

#18 ·
Yes. Nissan uses the first two letters for the engine family. So in your case it's the CA engines. Then next is numbers which refers to displacement in liters. Your's is 20 so that means 2.0. Finally there are a series of letters. You have just the letter E which means single overhead cam.

CA20E

so it makes sense here is the breakdown on the versa. MR18DE means MR family, 1.8 liter, dual overhead cam.

I knew the versa engine well the mr18 part didn't know the last part of the code though.

97k but still not to bad for the year ya outta come down and check it out. well I put one of those cut your own mirrors on the left side till I can get replacement glass. Found the radio isn't working just plays static might not be hooked up to the antenna.

Wow this thread seeing lots of action, nice! Why would a car get towed with no tags? I've never heard of that.

#26 ·
Just didn't want to chance it lol they can be very strict round here. And yeah I had to take the tint off cause it was turning black from the heat.

:( can't get the radio to work in the 200 radio turns on but just static, antenna wires are connected and the antenna goes up I'm stumped any thoughts?
