at some point nissan switched from regular green coolant to the blue long life. Other then that they seem identical.

Also on the 2012 Hatchback or if you've had an engine done under warranty they switched to a bigger oil pan and piston squirters. Only the mr18de though.

yup nissan did something about the piston slap. Im just not sure if its enough. Its never a good idea to have a sleeveless aluminum block.

The motor should have steel sleeves.

Random info - I know that years back Toyota made motors with no main or rod bearings in their V6 camrys. Its just machined to fit precisely. Throw away blocks as they called them :wiggle:

yes the motor should but the tech said they didnt...let me see if i can find a pic of the bare block
