1.6 folding rear seats?

I’m curious about this so thought I’d ask if there’s anyone out there with a 1.6 that isn’t a base model does your rear seats fold down? If so how do they unlock? In the 1.8 I can pull a tab at the top left/right to release each seat. Can your seats be released from within the trunk e.g. you locked your keys in the car but left the trunk unlocked? Can you go through the trunk to get back into your car?

Hey.... i have the 1.6 2nd Gen Sedan & I have the little tabs to fold the rear seats down. But as for the release from within the trunk, I've never actually checked, hmmm. I'd assume you can enter the car through the trunk though. I'll check tomorrow.

The only seats that fold down in any versa are the SL models. Since there was no 1.6 SL before 2012 none of them fold down.

If you locked your keys in the car with the trunk open your out of luck as the seats need to be unbolted from the inside. But if you locked your keys in the trunk with the door open your all set. It would be great if we could do the back seat conversion. We could carry more/bigger stuff in our cars(sedans).

I'm sure you could do the conversion. I've seen it done on other cars where one model didn't have the folding seats and another did.

Yeah, same here. Coming from an older Honda and being on their forums I have a few ideas for my V but I haven't seen any wrecked Vs at the local JYs.

On a good note...I was going through eBay last night and emailed this company about getting a few parts off a wrecked SL sedan so we'll see what happens.

I assume you mean for the sedan version of the Versa? I know the 1.8 S seats fold via the tabs as mine does. I know the 1.6 Base does not fold down and I was almost sure the 1.6 didn't fold either but just wanted to check.

There's a thought? could or has someone already went to the junk yard and got the back seats out of a 1.8 and put them in? I'm assuming they are all the same with plus/minus the release tabs and folding mechanism.
