12 volt accessories 2011 HB

I was looking to add a 12 volt accessory to power up my GPS. After researching the interior panels for a place to mount the socket, panel "D" was my choice. Very easy to remove the panel. The female socket required a 1-1/8 mounting hole. Note, the access square had to be enlarged to make room for the connectors. I used a small plastic ball squeezed in the square and used a felt pad that was dipped in white chalk to transfer the locaton to the panel "D" You only have one shot to drill the hole. <grin>

Used a 12 volt wire tap to power up the new outlet tapped into the 15 amp p0wer outlet Technology Font Electronic device Electronics Label

Photos shows what is behind Panel D. Need to cut away the plastic above the square opening.

Additional photos of where to place the 15v wire tap Very nice location for the the second 12v outlet. Now the wires for the GPS are more or less hidden.

See pages IP11 and IP15 for details on the panel removal
