2010 versa hatchback 1.8 auto cvt good battery starter and relay new nuteral switch at the linkage on trans new MAP NO CODES as well.
key turned to on postion all is good then to the start postion all lights on instrument panel go out no volts to starter solidnode but the rely energizes. Same set up but manually engage the starter relay motor turns over but wont start. any kinda of guess would be appreciated please let me know if more info is needed.

I know you checked the battery and it should should come in as listed below. Next, I would check the battery terminals, remove the connections, clean the posts and clamps and reconnect. I that fails to remedy the situation, I would then check all fuses to insure that none are blown. My normal procedure is to remove the fuse, check it with a multi tester to insure that it is good. Sometimes a fuse can blow and it is not noticeable to the naked eye. Hope this gives you some ideas in order to correct the problem you have!!!


Fully charged automotive batteries should measure at 12.6 volts or above. When the engine is running, this measurement should be 13.7 to 14.7 volts. If you don't have a multimeter to tell you the voltage of your battery, you can do a test of your electrical system by starting the car and turning on the headlights.

yes mca49 the battery was load tested and even switched it with another one that tested good(cca) as well. All fuses and relays were test out of the circuit and retested when put back in the circuit. I will double chk. Is there any ground thats prone to losing ground on the versa?
When you turn to the on postion it sounds like it should you can hear everything energize. Then turning the key to start the ignition/starter relay is energized and then all indicator lights go out. Is any of the other relays like an ASD AUTO SHUT DOWN relay like on Dodges? Why wont it start when the key is in start position and we manually energize the starter to get the motor to turn over. Does any one have a pin out of that circuit and/or of the PCM or ECM?

Found this while doing a search.............sounds weird but who knows................give it a shot and see what happens. Good luck

There are three large bolts in the driver's door jam. These bolts ground the body of the car to the frame. With a socket wrench, tighten all three bolts in order to make a solid ground to the car frame.

I will definitely chk those bolts for ground. When its electrical and with some of these circuits nothing is to far out there.

Go there, register for free, and the service manuals can be downloaded using the link at top of page. Thinking section PG is power and grounds.

Testing fuses can pass all day long if the fuse is still partly connected but say melted 3/4 of the way across. Then full battery power does not go through the system but part tests perfect all day long. Meaning have a CLOSE look at the battery fuse link in the battery cable. Your problems seem to say low power, the starter if working by jumping it can pull enough power off the ECM to not power up the spark. Same with dash lights going off at starter on.

Does your car have the Anti-theft chip?

I'm don't remember, Does the anti-theft chip keeps the car from starting, or just cranking?

Top
