Hey everyone, just bought a new 2012 nissan versa hatchback. I sold my GTI..sad i know RIP. But I love my versa...only problem is..the torgue in these vehicles are kinda slow... i have a 1.8 liter engine, so yea i figured...but since im willing to put money to make it faster. What ideas can you guys give me in modifying my engine. I noticed with GTI, i could get it tuned...which i did, Stage 3. But obviously VW and nissans are different. SO give me ideas on how to improve my versa engines performace, speed and torque wise as well as Horse power! Thanks

First of all..... HI There! :biggrinjester: and 2nd, you know that there a huge gap between a GTI and a Versa... the versa is made for fuel economy not performance. You can make some mods on the engine but it's easier to tune it for more fuel economy if you want more torque, you'll need to put a turbo on it and this mean a lot of monaaayy. This is more like a Low and SLow car than a performance car that's what i think. When my engine will be dead i'll try for sure to swap it with a SR20DET of a pulsar GTIR but for now you should Enjoy your car as it is and do not modd it before the warranty is no more. Any modifications to your car can avoid the warranty... dealers are really strict.
Welcome to the forums
the dealer has to prove that a mod caused a failure in order to void any warranty, this was told to me by my nissan dealer.
Welcome, Hope you enjoy the stay. Basic mods like CAI, Crank Pulley, Cat-Back, NTD Throttle Control, and headers are a good start. At least until the Supercharger is finished. http://www.nissanversaforums.com/engine-forum/2106-serious-upgrade-coming.html
You could spend 7-10k on it for a bunch of choppy, unreliable, warranty voiding mods....or you could sell it and get a 1 year old sentra spec-v with warranty that would out perform the hell outta that Frankenstein.
These guys are right. It's an economy car.
CAI and exhaust might give you an extra 6-7 hp/ tq if you're lucky but I'd think twice before going further than that.
Curious why you went from the gti to a versa?

I have these couple of mods and i got a better fuel economy but putting the CAI made me loose some torque and gain in hp it balance itself if can say it like this.
Congrats on the 1.8L
