When the "new" tires wear out I'll be upgrading her wheels and tires (Hate hub caps!) And I believe its the 1.6L but I'll double check tomorrow. (It's auto) I would like to do whatever it takes to get rid of the horrible whine when you "try" and get on the gas.. or even once you get up around 55-70mph its kinda whines and struggles to hold the speed. And one other small issue I've found was if you slowly accelorate it makes this funny slipping sound but if I gas it.. the best you can for this stock versa it shifts normal for a 4cy. Just so everyone knows I'm use to driving a 2004 Ford F-150XLT 4.6L with a programmer on it.. so I'm use to some power lol.
It sounds like you're describing a CVT, that sound is normal, basically holds the revs high if you gas it. Like 1 gear.
