My first transmission went out in 2015 and was covered entirely by manufacturer. Three days ago the tranny went out again along with the catalytic converter.

Nissan service center stated the cost would total over $5000. Mind you I haven't even paid off the loan.

Filed a claim with insurance.
Verified that it isn't covered under California's Lemon Law.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Thanks!

Woes

Your catalytic converter should be covered by Nissan at least for 5 years as it is part of the emissions system. That is unless they can prove you did something to harm it (used leaded gas, accident that physically damaged it).

Check the posts here on transmissions as Nissan extended the coverage on at least some of them. If you have a lot of miles (over 200 thousand) you probably are out of luck.

Hope you get some help with the problems.

Try to plead your case with Nissan zone representative. It may also help if you be able to site other cases with the same problem (google it).

2017 is way too soon for a 2014 car to have gone through TWO transmissions, not even under severe service conditions. Don't let them weasel out of covering it!
