I see that on the 2014 Versa SV, that the fog lights are considered an accessory, which I guess means it's optional. When buying this car, who puts in the fog lights? Does Nissan do it (like at the factory) or does the dealer do it? Or am I responsible for this?

I know the SL comes with fog lights, but it's also more expensive and not worth the extra cost (to me anyway).

If you want the option to have the fog lights on, they'll sell you the car that has them already on from factory, but if you don't , they will find one without it and sell it to you, or they will remove it and drop whatever the cost of the fog lights off you final price. And it's vice versa.

Hmmm... I'm not doubting you, but when I looked for cars online (cars.com), I didn't see any SVs with the fog lights already installed.

This is getting confusing. I wish car buying was easier and less expensive.

Mine is a 13' SV purchased new last year and it came with foglights. Not sure about 14's but I know last year my local dealers would only keep one or two SV models in stock with fog lights and they also tended to come bundled with other options like illuminated kickplates and auto dimming rearview mirror which mine has to.

Up to the dealers how they ordered the cars, they are out there but very few.

Foglights tend to be an option that most dealers don't opt for on the Nissan Versa. Dealers like to order a bunch of sparsely optioned car and only one or two fully loaded ones. They figure they are more likely to sell the more of the ones with fewer options because the Versa is marketed toward value oriented buyers.

I wouldn't say (in my opinion) that the Versa is for value oriented buyers. But maybe that depends on how one defines value.

I think the Versa (SL and SV) is expensive. I just had a dealer quote me around $17,500 total for the SV with fog lights that they will install there. They won't answer me about the interior color and I've only asked (via email) three times.
