Has anyone on their versa or note's paint the chrome insides of the headlights?

I did on my mini cooper s when I had it. Looked awesome.

But has anyone removed their headlights?

Yes you have to remove the front bumper cover to remove the headlights but the SR trim already comes with blacked out headlights so that would be an easier mod if you wanted to change the color of the headlights.
