2015 Nissan Versa and Ham Radio Install

Well one of my hobby's is Ham Radio or Amateur Radio.

Over the last couple of weeks I've kinda been piecing it together. But for the most parting everything is done.

The radio is a Yaesu FT8800R remote mounted in the trunk with the control head mounted on the center console. There really not not a lot of flat surfaces where I could of put the control head.

Hey, I'm interested in installing a ham radio in my 2014 Versa Note. The only thing I'm still trying to figure out is how to power it. I know you're supposed to run power directly from the battery, but it isn't really clear to me what the best way to do that is.

I see you installed your unit in the trunk--did you run power all the way from the battery, or did you tap into the power system back there?
I installed a ham radio in my Note.

I had to drill through the main wire harness grommet, above the brake pedal, weasel the wire up, ground to fender, and power to battery.

The head unit is installed just in front of the shifter, below the outside air selector, ran coax over the hatch door seals and used wire tie adhesive mounts to keep the coax from rattling, coax exits top of door to mag mount antennas.

Great, thanks! Where did you put the radio itself? Under one of the seats or back in the trunk as well?
Hi WV1Q here, I will start my install as soon as I get the gear in my 2015. I have experience in Car audio and Alarm installs I will post the results and any hints I see here. See you all down the bands.
