2015 Versa sedan S and Rostra cruise control

Below is the private messages about Rostra cruise control and possibly having to recalibrate the accelerator pedal after disconnecting the battery and unplugging the connector to the pedal. I thought it might be beneficial to others to post this and maybe someone else has something to contribute.
Bottom is the beginning and the top is most recent.

Re: Rostra Cruise Control
I had not thought about the reasons in detail. The rationale you put forth makes a lot of sense to me. I just was not sure if Nissan kept the learned settings in a volatile memory in which case disconnecting electrical power could have appreciable effects as seemed to have been implied by their calibration procedures.

I am new to forums so I am not familiar with the in's and outs. As I stated I probably will not be adding to the car before the end of the year. Other projects have higher priority for now. So yes I agree, others could contribute and benefit, but I doubt for the immediate future I will have much more to contribute.

If you are replacing the ECM or the Throttle Control Actuator or other components referred to then it should be done. Nissan would be having lots of problems from customers if a battery disconnect or dead battery required all that. Mine is fine with no check engine light and power and fuel economy are great. EC124 calibration is also probably performed just by driving a couple of trips if you look at the on/off on/off sequence. I also do not see how the accelerator pedal control would know if the harness was disconnected if the battery was disconnected first. It's just a plug in connector.

I also want to install a key lock on the passenger door. This is a priority for me. Any info on this would be helpful. Maybe we should do this communication in a posted thread so others can benefit and contribute.

Index of /FSM/Versa/2014 Versa Sedan

Find PG-7. It talks about disconnecting the battery and refers you to EC-126. Now there is a bunch of stuff there and even on the preceding pages that refer to recalibrating with and without the factory "Consult" system. In looking at it, I would say EC-124 and EC-125 are also applicable.

I find it interesting that you did not observe any problems or significant differences without having performed these procedures. Maybe you got lucky, or hopefully these systems do not forget that easily?

Please keep me posted on your findings.

The only issue I am having is my trip odometer won't reset any more and I don't know if it is related or not to the cruise install or the battery disconnect. Could you link me to the info on recalibrating or copy and paste it?

Thanks

I bought the car to be primarily used as a towed vehicle behind my motor home. I just installed a base plate, wiring and blocking diodes to allow sharing of the brake and tail light system. I had to install a relay in the brake light system since the Versa's system was active without key on.

I will most likely install the Rostra cruise, but most likely will not get to it this year. My primary concern is the reference in the shop manual to having to re calibrate the accelerator pedal after it has been electrically disconnected and or the battery disconnected.

There are other things I will want to do later. Like install a key lock on the passenger door.

I have a relatively new 2014 Versa S and am seriously considering adding the cruise control. I am a bit concerned about resetting the throttle control limits once the accelerator pedal electrics have been disconnected and re connected. Did you have any problems?

I just got back a few days ago and have been very busy at work from being gone for 3 weeks. It will be a little while before I make a how to post with pictures.
