Slight noise seems to be coming from right and left wheel area when turning. With such lo mileage I have no clue what this may be??

There have been mentions about front wheel bearings going out much earlier than they should. It should be under warranty …...take it in to the dealer and have them test drive it.

Welcome Marie,

So the noise is coming from both sides at the same time?
When you turn left, where is the noise coming from?
when you turn right where is the noise coming from?

Can you describe the noise, is a squeak, an clunking noise, scraping noise, etc...

Popping?
Clicking?
Groaning?
Screeching?

It s like a scraping-grating noise that used to be occasional past summer and now I hear it each time I turn right or left. No noise when braking and steering wheel doesn t pull

Lik a scraping, grating noise. Was very slight in the summer and only occasional... now it s each time I turn right or left and a little louder. No sound when braking and steering wheel doesn t pull. Brake inspection showed they were good this past Feb so don t think it s that.

Marie,

Does the car have to be moving to recreate the sound? With the car in park, can you recreate the sound turning the wheel?

Don t think so in park but I ll have to double check that.,. I know no noise in reverse. It recently is making a noise when I m driving... used to be the grating type noise just when turning but now I m hearing it when I’m driving as well. For this reason I am more concerned. Have an inspection appt Monday with Nissan. With such lo mileage I just never anticipated any issues.

Going on 5 winters, this could be anything brake or suspension related. It's the number of winters the vehicle has been through more so than mileage. It could even be an exhaust heat shield noise. I know that's been an issue on our 2015 as has rust on the front brake rotors breaking loose and making noise on the dust shields. I'll have to do front brakes first thing this spring.

Please let us know what it was when you get it fixed. I think I am starting to hear the same issue in the front left wheel in my 2016 Versa S sedan. I only have 12,400 miles. Doesn't do it all the time. But the first couple times I heard it I thought no way I am hearing things. But I've heard it a few more times. Usually while turning right.

Might want to check to make sure the inner fender liner hasn't somehow got re-positioned and letting the tire/wheel rub it while the car is in motion and or when the wheels are turned. The fender liners are just held in place by plastic push pins that are easily broken. When I bought my '16 Versa used it had a few broken pins in the front liners. I went on eBay and bought 100 of them for something like $2. out of China. I'd hate to see you have to pay a dealer a big diagnostic fee for something so simple and inexpensive to fix.

Definately makes me feel something is rubbing....I’m not a mechanical type female or I d go out right now to check. Hopefully this would be covered under the remaining 5 yr warranty...guess U ll find out Monday. I appreciate your input!

Front disk dust shields often make that noise...they bend easily when hit while changing a tire...pebbles or other crap get trapped in them & rub on the rotor...yada, yada. Very easy to correct those problems.
