If I'm installing a 2016 Sentra Display Color unit into a 2015 Versa SV with the base radio, is the 2014 base and Display Audio wiring diagrams correct for me? There all I can find. It's the AUX, MIC, and Camera inputs I'm trying to connect.

No, the 2014 Base Audio wiring diagram was not correct for me. I'm starting out with Mid Level Audio. The 20 pin connector remains unchanged. The 32 pin has several changes listed in following post below.)

I may not do the camera for a while. But I don't like the aftermarket camera I have. Looks straight to the ground.

I've ordered the AXXESS add camera wire connectors, to build a plug n play to correct the AUX and MIC.

I have had success with getting the honda dealer to print off stuff for a car I had. Ironically the parts dept was the most helpful with that.

Id like to learn more about the bluetooth module that guy showed you can upgrade to use with aftermarket radios and maintain steering wheel controls. Ive held off putting a carplay radio in my car due to that and crutchfield says they do not make a module for nissans.

Im in the middle of moving and severe back pain.

I've had two back surgeries. My tailbone, L4, and L5 (S1) are all fused together now.

As a bit of an update, I found that it looks like I'll be able to get the hands-free system at least partially working. Using info I found online and verifying it with the service manuals, it appears that if I disconnect the Bluetooth module and connect the following pins on the connector, I should at least have all of the steering wheel controls working:
Pin 12 -> Pin 17
Pin 13 -> Pin 18
Pin 14 -> Pin 19

As I guessed, the Bluetooth module IS intercepting the steering wheel controls partially.

Because my Versa is still under warranty, I didn't want to alter the wiring were I couldn't quickly reverse it back to Base Audio head unit.

I bought the PAC BT-SWC-NI1 connector that simply jumps the wire pin positions.

It does exactly what tomiga has listed. 12 to 17, 13 to 18, and 14 to 19. So this is all one would need to forward the talk switch controls to an aftermarket head unit. I assume most aftermarket units with handsfree talk will have their own mic, either built in or external.

So far no one seems to be able to hear me when using the Bluetooth handsfree. So even after the upgrade oem radio goes in, I may have to look into a different mic setup too. Not sure if it's the placement in the ceiling pointing straight down? My 2012 Venza had mic in lower part of the rear view mirror, so it pointed toward my face. People I talked to said they couldn't tell I was using handsfree, it was so clear. I may keep an eye out for a Toyota Venza mirror.

My Display Color Audio head unit has an 8 pin connector that I think I need that my Versa SV Base Audio doesn't have. Maybe I can find one in a junk yard.

Found this on eBay today. Several different sellers have them. But all from China with long ship times. I ordered one to see. If nothing else, I'll use the 8 pin connector shell and move the pins over from the 32 connector.
(EDIT 7-27-2018) Received the 8 pin connector with the phono plug lead in the mail today. I'll cut the phono plug cable off and solder the wires coming from the console AUX jack. I want it to look factory and also the phono plug it came with is the older big style that won't fit in most cell phone cases. It uses all 4 wires like original. Hey! I now have a nice shielded cable with correct conductors to run the mic wires from the A pillar to the head unit, lol. I need to find this cable in bulk incase I find a stock Versa Sedan rear camera.

I noticed last night while reviewing the wiring diagrams, the Display Audio and Nav units take there Ignition +12V from the ACC Relay 2.

Is that the one that retains power after the key is off but only until a door is opened or a given time expires?

Base and Mid Audio units shows switched +12V direct from ignition and not the the ACC Relay 2.

I prolly won't feel like running another wire and splicing into that ACC Relay output. But, I can get a little OCD on everything being or looking as if factory original.

I received a replacement Display Color Audio head unit today. The first one was DOA. The eBay seller had pics of it powered up on the auction page. But looks like it had taken a hit to the power/volume knob. The knob wobbled when I turned it and wouldn't turn on. They sent another one. I haven't tested it yet. The face looks ok, not perfect, but acceptable. It didn't come with the vin from whatever vehicle it came from. The first one was out of a 2016 Sentra. I'll try the first ones vin for the Nissan Connect.

Anyhoo, I pulled the trigger and purchased the PAC Audio SWI-CP2 Steering wheel harness kit and PAC Audios BT-SWC-NI1. Ebay has a sale buy a 100 dollar ebay card for 90 bucks then use code PRIMO for 20% off purchases over 50 bucks. I paid 73 before codes and discounts for the adapter and black box. I purchased a car play radio for cheap at crutchfield, but held off installing it due to loosing steering wheel controls.

Also need to run power lead for amp and leads for rcas and adjustable cross over with level adjustment. /images/NissanVersaForums2/smilies/tango_face_devil.png

At the moment, I'm not looking for diagrams but simply waiting for a new Display Color head unit. The seller is sending me another one. Hopefully it's in mint condition.

I received the replacement Display Audio headunit. I went junk yarding today and found a spare male white connector, 20 pin I think it is. Also couple odd connectors just for there pins with lead wires.

Maybe tonight I'll get the time to sit with my laptop, the Nissan repair cd and a note pad and plan out each wire pin position to be moved and or added. Lately it's been very comfortable outside until noon, then very hot after. Maybe I can get this done in the morning.

The 20 pin Add a Subwoofer wiring harness arrived today along with a Nissan accessory satellite radio antenna. It's the one that mounts to the roof with 3M adhesive tape and the wire tucks under the glass rubber. Wish I had the actual Versa combination FM radio/Satellite radio antenna. But didn't find one on eBay.
I already have the 32 pin Axess add a camera harness and the 8 pin AUX connector. So hopefully the upgrade stereo swap will be done this week.

I didn't realize when I ordered the Add Subwoofer harness, that I didn't need it for the Mid Audio to Display Color Audio upgrade. There is no change in the 20 pin harness between the two. But I would like to add a sub in the near future.

I have added 3 more jumpers to the PAC BT-SWC-NI1. I noticed more wires in that harness to the External Bluetooth Module that will be unused by the Display Color Audio head unit. So why not create more jumpers to forward the MIC signals to the head unit. On the Axxess Add a Camera harness, I've moved the corresponding pins from the rear Bluetooth harness to the correct MIC Input pin positions on the head unit.
I have a Nissan accessory satellite radio antenna I found on eBay. Has the correct Pink connector for the Display Color head unit.
I separated the AUX input wires off the 32 pin Axxess wire harness and routed to the 8 pin connector. I have the pick tools to release the locking tabs on the pins and pull them out of the 32 and push them into the 8.

It's 1am and I'm stopping for the night. Will begin install into the car tomorrow. I still have the Reverse input to run to the head unit for camera. I also want to change the switched +12V from the ignition to the Accessory Relay-2, so the head unit stays on until the door is opened. Yeah, not necessary but I want too.

Good to hear. I use to in the early days of my stereo mods adding extra bass was to buy a bazooka pass through connector harness. I then installed the powered sub behind the driver or passenger seat.

I showed the pac controller and bluetooth module delete connector to a radio installer. He never seen or heard of either before. He tells people if they love the cars bluetooth or steering wheel controls to keep the factory radio or loose them and use a voice activated head unit and have siri or google do all the work.

I'm leaning toward a small under the front seat sub box. I just want more beat. Not so big on having sheet metal rattling vibration.

The PAC Bluetooth jumper should work fine. I'll find out tomorrow.
It simply bypasses the Bluetooth module and sends the Ladder Signals from the steering wheel TALK/HANG UP switch directly to the head unit harness.

When I plugged the Display Color Audio head unit unto the 2015 Versa Mid Level Audio head unit connectors, without making any changes first, the SOURCE, UP/DOWN, and VOLUME buttons worked. It was only the TALK/HANG UP switch that did not work.

Hopefully everything works out tomorrow and the install will be done.
They way I have planned it out, I can remove the adapter harness at the head unit connector. Remove the PAC jumper and reconnect the External Bluetooth. Then re install the Mid Level Audio head unit and all will be back to original for any warranty work. Particularly the out of stock Mid Level Audio head unit the dealer ordered 2 months ago. The screen is dead on this one. After they have not delivered on a second key fob key that was promised during the sale. And the sinking feeling that the lifetime power train was not in writing. I no longer trust the dealer. I think they tricked me into buying an extended bumper to bumper that the car came with anyway because it was a Certified Pre Owned. Have to check on that this week and demand a refund on it.

TOTAL AWESOME SAUCE!!!!
Streaming Bluetooth audio works.
Microphone works.
All steering wheel buttons work.
Speakers still sound like shiitake mushrooms. Display Audio has better low frequency but only at lower volume. Turning it up past 22 and it still sounds like under driven speakers. Sub is next with filters on the door speakers.

I haven't ran the Reverse +input to the head unit yet.

The RCA cable that I had run from the deck lid up to the passenger kick panel, has a power wire made into the cable. The camera end of it, I connected to the reverse light. So the dash end of that cable already had the reverse light feed for the head unit.

I'll have to put up with double guide lines until I can find a used Versa Sedan camera.

I tried to activate the Nissan Connect Apps on this unit. First tried the Vin provided by the salvage company I bought the Display Color Audio head unit from. The app said I wasn't the owner. I tried my Versa vin and it wouldn't say anything but just crash the app. Today I received the used 2015 Versa AM/FM/XM roof antenna I bought off eBay. Again, the salvage yard had the Vin printed on the pull ticket. I tried typing it into the app. It activated!

Facebook, google, iHeart radio, Pandora, twitter, and Trip Advisor are the only apps listed. I only choose iHeart and Pandora. So far I'm loving iHeart. I haven't listened to Z100 in years.
