so we picked up a 2018 versa for my son and looking at manual it says o-20# for oil .....well we looked and that only comes in synth and for 6month or 5000 mi for oil changes that seems like overkill/wasteful....then I noticed underneath that spec. it said that 10-30# dino is acceptable.....which can easily last 5000 mi or 6months......which would be more cost effective.....is there anybody using the 10-30# instead of 0-20# ...it seems 10-30# would also give better protection in warmer weather also.......and can you run 0-20# during winter and go to the 10-30# in the summer or just stick to one grade of oil year round....any comment would be great thanks guy......and gals

Welcome aboard.

Thats a new change for the new car. For the older models I believe the regular oil is used due to the plastic parts in their vtec system. Since they list an alternative to the ow requirement I think you are fine to use it.
