I have a 2012 Versa 1.6 S and want to switch out the manual transmission shifter knob for something that feels a bit better in the hand. Does anyone know what size the thread has to be for an aftermarket shift knob to fit properly? For example, I have seen a NISMO knob online listed as being m10x1.25.
ITS NOT THREADED YOU HAVE TO PULL THE SHIFT KNOB OFF THEN CUT THE PLASTIC PEICE OFF THE KNURLING THEN THREAD THE KNURLING TO M10X1.25 OR WHATEVER THREAD YOU WANT. i THEN TRIMMED OFF THE PLASTIC OFF THE LOCK RING WITH A SHARP RAZOR BLADE
On second thought thats the new body style so I dont know if they changed the shifter. But I test drove a 1.6 5spd and from what i remember the 5 spd and 6 spd knobs were the same.
read through this thread first. You dont have to cut the knob off just yank it off and cut the white plastic clip off. Thats assuming its the same style
