225/45-17 on 17x7 +40 WILL WORK, these are the exact sizes i am running. you will only rub if you get coilovers and max them out, with tanabe springs you will not rub, and of course not lowered at all wont rub.
btw, 215/45-17 is the closest to stock diameter, which is what you want.
