I ran into this issue and a Google search brought me to this forum. I was trying to replace the calipers as well as the pads & rotors, and there are 2 different ones and all the listings in the aftermarket use ABS or Non-ABS to differentiate them. I of course chose the ABS ones, and they are incorrect for my 08 SL Hatchback. I can see from the images online that I need the ones that say Non-ABS.
From the listings I am seeing for pads, calipers & hoses I wonder if the issue is where the aftermarket manufacturers obtained their research. As you will see, there are some that don't mention anything about ABS and only offer 1 version of pads, etc. while others use the ABS differentiators. Could be some only used USA research data while others obtained data that included vehicles from other markets, like Canada & Mexico.
